Weekend Update

Kevin's been talking about going to the Men's Basketball games at CSI since we knew we would be moving to Twin. He loved to come to Twin growing up and go to the games with his buddies. So Saturday we finally went. I am NOT much of a basketball fan at all, which Kevin is trying to change. So apparently there was some sort of Tournament happening and the team CSI played Saturday night...RCC, that's right...Riverside Community College! I was excited having a team from So. Cal. up here. Well CSI's men's team is ranked something like #2 in the nation for Junior College basketball. So they gave RCC a little "beating". There was one point where a CSI guy just ATTACKED an RCC player. So i cheered in defense for RCC the rest of the game. Kevin & I were laughing because some of my cheering and clapping got us looks from the CSI fans we were sitting around. Kevin joked that we would have to run to the car after the game so we wouldn't get beat up. Well RCC lost and i was glad to see that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. CSI started putting in the scrubs towards the end. RCC never put their "token white guy" in to play the entire game. I felt bad for him. All in all it was fun and I'd go again.

Sunday we went to our new ward for the first time. It was actually bigger then i expected it to be, but NOTHING like our ward in Rexburg, thank goodness, that was WAY TOO big! But i don't like the set up of the schedule. R.S., then Sunday school, and then Sacrament meeting. It's VERY hard to concentrate in Sacrament meeting because your attention span has already been spent on the 2 hours previous. Especially for the kids, it's gotta be hard going into that meeting after Primary! This is going to take some getting used to.

I had to introduce myself in R.S. and they all laughed when i said where we moved into. Apparently the apartment complex we live in is notorious in having people move into it and attend the ward for only a short amount of time till they find a house to purchase (Jeffrey told me this after church was over). Which is EXACTLY what we are doing! And then when we went to the clerks office to get our records into this ward, i heard him mention to an older lady in the office as well, that probably a third of the ward lives in our apartments. I hope to meet some of them and make some friends.

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving on Thursday. I can't believe it's already that time of year. Should be fun. I'm glad that we don't have to make such a long drive now. That's a bonus of living closer! I have to make my friend Sarah's FAMOUS rolls for dinner. Which the family just loves. Oh the pressure!

Guess that's it for now. Happy Monday!

I have been on this reverse church block for two years and I am quite the fan now. I find that RS and SS now get me in the mindset for the Sacrament. However, I don't think it really matters which meeting comes at the end of 2 hours, it's still hard to pay attention!
