LONGEST POST KNOWN TO MAN!!!...or what should be

Hope you have some time to read. Let me fill you in on everything that has been happening since Thursday.

Thursday we got the call that we were for closing on the house Friday morning. So i call Kevin to come out to he can be here to sign papers. He gets out here Thursday night at 9pm. I had alot of the kitchen packed up by the time he got home. We continued to pack a bit and then went to bed.

Friday morning i could not sleep so i finally got out of bed finally at 6:30. I went downstairs and let Kevin sleep a little bit more. So i started packing more stuff. Kevin gets up around 7:30. We continue to pack until about 10am when we decided to go rent a Uhaul truck. Those of you familiar with Rexburg will know "the dome", so as we were driving over there my phone rang...it was Max & Sarah (who are buying our house). I thought "aren't they supposed to be signing papers right now?" So i answer and we make small talk and then Max says "uh...we decided to back out." Literally my heart stopped! He then started to laugh SO HARD, then said "just kidding. we just finished signing the papers." I said "don't do that to me!" So we continued on our way to "the dome" to get a Uhaul. We get there and we go in and we say "we need a truck and we need one 'this big' " She replied "we don't have any." Once again my heart stopped. She gave us a few other options to find a truck and wished us luck. From there we went over to the title company to sign all the papers on the house. All went well and we were told the money will be in the bank on Monday by three. So i planned with Max & Sarah at 5pm Monday to hand over the keys. Then we went over to Ace to rent a truck there. They didn't have any big enough either! So we tried our last hope...a place in Rigby. Kevin calls and the lady says "uh, let me see, oh yes we just had one returned." Kevin's response "WE'LL TAKE IT! HERE IS MY NAME AND CREDIT CARD NUMBER, WHEN CAN WE PICK IT UP???" So we arranged Saturday to get it at 8am. Kevin also found us a storage unit in Twin for all of our stuff. Things were looking good.

We had EVERYTHING packed Friday night (except for the bathroom). We were exhausted! We went to go sit in the Spa in the club house one last time. we get changed and walk over there and IT WAS BROKEN! We were so sad! So we jumped in the pool. It was cold and not what we wanted so we got out and went back to the house. We went to bed and i slept very soundly cause i was so tired.

Saturday we were at the store in Rigby at 10 minutes to 8. We get all the paperwork filled out, yada yada yada, the kid (he was only 16) goes to give us the keys...AND CAN'T FIND THEM!! So for 20 minutes we searched for the keys and finally found them. After much worry on my part. We finally got out of there and back up to Rexburg. Our friend Calvin was there waiting for us to help load the truck. Just after that our home teachers showed up. While the guys loaded the truck, i packed up the bathroom and my bags for the week of staying with my friend Gracie. Kevin said he would be happy to load the truck by noon. They had it loaded by 10:30! WOO HOO! it was great. So the guys left and we arranged a few things, got some lunch and then we were on our way to Twin.

I needed gas in the car so i told Kevin to go ahead in the truck and I'm sure i would catch up to him. Well the only way i caught up to home was because we made a stop at a gas station after passing Pocatello. Which is almost the half way point of the drive.

We got to the storage unit at about 3:10pm. We had it unloaded by 4pm! There was Kevin, me, Jeff, Lynn, Doug, and Linda.

So we went back to Jeff's house (where Kevin is staying). Doug & Linda ran to the store and all us kids decided they should buy us dinner. Nice of us huh? LOL. So Jeff calls and says "Dad i have a problem, my stomach is empty and so is my wallet. How about taking us to dinner?" Doug replied "You'll Have to talk to your mom" But then doesn't hand over the phone to Linda. LOL. They got back to Jeff's and she quickly agreed to take us out. We wanted to go to Gertie's a FANTASTIC pizza place, but it was WAY TOO crowded. So we went to another place and currently i can't think of the name. We then went back to Doug & Linda's for the night. We were so excited to be somewhere where we could watch Game 3 of the World Series. I unfortunately could NOT stay awake. So Kevin finally got me to bed when the game was over. Sox won! WOO HOO!!!!!

Sunday we planned to get up, get ready and drive back to Rexburg. Well Kevin decided we should see if his brother Keith was working. He works in the Tire Center at Walmart in Burley. So we chatted with him and noticed that they do tire rotations for $1.50 a tire. So we said do it, we needed it anyway. Well the front tires were pretty bad, OK REALLY BALD! Well apparently they were splitting apart. So we had to get two new tires. Well i guess they put the new tires on the back and the older ones in the front. They take off the back tires and noticed one was beginning to split! So FOUR new tires and 2.5 hours later we were on our way home.

We got into Rexburg and headed over to the house to do the final clean and pack up. We got started cleaning at about 3pm and 8pm we finally locked up the house. So Kevin left to go back to Twin Falls and i headed to St. Anthony to stay with Gracie.

Monday the money was supposed to be in the bank by 3pm. Well it wasn't there before my meeting so i was a little concerned, so after my meeting i checked again, cause i was supposed to hand over the keys at 5pm (only IF the money was there). Well i get a phone call at 10 minutes to 5pm saying that the painter has put a lean against all of Phase 4 and then they couldn't record the title in Max & Sarah's name. I FREAKED OUT!!!! So i called around to the foreman of the construction, the realtor that WE bought from and the title company. Finally at around 6:30pm got some reassurance that things might/should get sorted out on Tuesday.

Today, Tuesday, it's 3:15pm and i heard that hopefully by 4pm all is cleared up and closed. I will let you know. We are freakin' out here people!!!

UPDATE: WE ARE OFFICALLY CLOSED! WE HAVE OUR MONEY! WE ARE NO LONGER HOME OWNERS (to our beautiful townhome, which we will GREATLY miss!!!). Hopefully in about 7 months we will be buying another home. Kevin is turning in our form to get an apartment in Twin Falls tonight. Hopefully we should be able to move in Friday!

10:30 tomorrow...

...WE CLOSE ON OUR HOUSE!!!!! We couldn't have picked a CRAZIER Saturday to need to pack up, but i think it's going to work out OK. Jeremy is doing great so if i leave her for awhile then we will be just fine (we have a Reunion).

* i also got an email yesterday from CSI saying "sorry it's taken so long but...thanks but no thanks". idiots!

CSI update

They have hired for the position and didn't let me know. JERKS!!! (i had to call Human Resources to see what the heck was going on!)

busy busy

Kevin and I had a busy weekend. We got ALOT packed and organized this weekend. All that's really left is the Kitchen and our bedroom. Which i should be getting packed up this week, the kitchen mostly i could.

It was SO fantastic to have Kevin home this weekend. It's always so hard to say good-bye at the end of the weekend. Soon hopefully there will be no more good byes.

I talked to the kids buying our house and they think we will be closing on the sale of the house by the end of the week. THAT WOULD BE SO FANTASITC!!!! So we are just keeping our fingers crossed that that is really what's going to happen!

My replacement, Jeremy, started yesterday. She is going to be GREAT! She totally fits in at the office as well. Which is a BIG plus! I can be here with her for 3 weeks for training. Here's to hoping that all is done and taken care of with the house so i CAN be out of here sooner then 3 weeks!

Well, i need to get some work done because i have been out of the office ALL morning till 2pm. We were showing Jeremy around campus and introducing her to all the people that i deal with on campus for events and things.

craziness today!

So it's 5:10pm and i'm still at work, which isn't bad, but I DIDN'T GET A LUNCH TODAY!!! It has been the craziest day! I am so glad it's over, but i fear what will await me on Monday.

Kevin got the part for the car, which will hopefully fix it. I am waiting to hear how things go with putting it in the car. If all goes well he will come home tonight and we will have the weekend at home. BUT if it doesn't fix it, i have NO idea what we are going to do to get him home. Let us all pray that the part fixes that car and all is well.

Some progress on "things"

So I've packed a little more in the house. I actually packed a box this morning too before work. Kevin SHOULD be coming home this weekend so we will hopefully get alot done. We'll see. Hopefully the car gets fixed. I KNOW he needs to come home and get a break of staying with Jeff & Barbara. We are so thankful he's been able to stay with them but it's been 2 months and i think it's wearing thin for everyone involved.

I have been a bit frustrated with the whole house selling thing. We did it without a Realtor so we don't have a "middle man" to call and see where things are in the process. So I've been a little stressed with finding out information and truly understanding some of the words being used. But they came and appraised the house yesterday afternoon. The guy said once he turns in that report we should be able to close in a matter of a few days. But I'm not "counting my chickens before they hatch". We'd love to close ASAP and get out of the house before the first of the month. I don't want to pay another payment if we are only going to be in there for one or two days.

They interviewed for my replacement yesterday. I think they are offering the job to someone today. If she accepts it she could pretty much start ASAP. So, this is going to be a crazy few weeks. I can be here with her for 3 weeks. But i don't plan on being here that long if i don't need to be. I hope be out of here by the end of the month. Think i can do it?!? Please pray this all works out!!!!

STILL nothing from CSI. I'm EXTREMELY irritated with them!!! I don't know if i want to work for them if this is how they treat people. Never calling them back after they leave messages, etc. UGH!

PICTURES GALORE!!!

OK, so a little info before we get to ALL the pictures.

We think we may have found a house. We technically found it out in Jerome. But Kevin doesn't really want to live in Jerome. But they build the same house in Twin Falls. SO...i think we need to call the Realtor and see what is the deal with the houses. I really think Kevin is leaning towards building in Twin. I could live in either place. Jerome really isn't that bad, it's just small.

Kevin's car needed a new part. I couldn't tell you the name of it, but it's a part that normally doesn't go bad. But seeing how the car is 20 years old, it's not surprising that it did. Jeff said we could get one off a car in a junk yard and it would last probably a few more years. Well Saturday morning they went and found one. As Jeff was cutting the piece off the car...it fell apart in his hands!!! So they called around to a few other junk yards, couldn't find it and so they ended up at the Honda dealership ordering a part. So that should be in tomorrow and hopefully fixed in time for him to come home this weekend. Good, cause i'm not driving out there again if i don't have too. We need to pack!!!

Barbara cleared up for me the whole "fit" that Karter through the night Karson got home. Karter was mad that Barbara wasn't in the kitchen having dinner with them (she was feeding Karson in the living room). So he finally calmed down when she came into the dining room. That's all it was. Nothing big.

OH! So i called the title company, they are still waiting on the lender to give them info on the people buying our house. They have EVERYTHING they need on my end. It's a bit frustrating. I should hear something today to see where the process is. UGH! I just want this done!!

Still nothing from CSI. No letter, email or phone call. Stupid people. What is their deal?!?!

I brought Karter into to see Barbara at the hospital. He fell asleep on the ride over. So he slept on her bed while she went into the NICU to see Karson. Being the big brother is hard work!

What a great guy!

So i've heard about this from some of our students. So i thought i would share it with you. Thanks Natalie for the email with the picture.

In case you were like me and heard the laughter of the whole audience during the Saturday morning session, but didn't know why it happened, check out the story below.

After President Hinckley finished with the sustaining of the officers of the church during the Saturday morning session, Elder Eyring had moved into his new seat on the stand. They didn't show this on TV, but when President Hinckley turned around, he stood there for a moment looking at Elder Eyring, then picked up his cane and 'knighted' him on his shoulder and head. Hilarious.

I survived!

I made it through night two of "boot camp" class. I didn't look at the clock as much this time. I think that's what made it worse the first time. Time went way faster, plus i knew what to expect. I still felt like i was going to die but i pushed through it. YEAH!!!! GO ME GO ME GO ME!!!! Dyan and I were having some good laughs during class too. I can't even tell you how many times i swore under my breath last night. I gave up on the jump rope and just started doing the jumping exercises without it. I think I'll just buy one and bring it with me cause i can't seem to find one long enough.

Well i am heading to Twin again this weekend. So much for packing. We still don't have a close date yet for the sell of our house. I am going to call the title company here in a few minutes to see where the process is. So we are going to look for apartments this weekend. fun fun.

Baby Karson came home yesterday. All seems well. Karter was fine to hold him. Kevin said they got some good pictures of the boys together. Though at one point Karter was not getting the attention he wanted and threw a HUGE tantrum. This is going to be new to them cause Karter usually is the sweetest little boy ever. I knew his world was going to be rocked when baby brother came along. LOL. Hopefully I'll be able to bring some pictures back this weekend of my little nephews.

not getting it

Kevin & I have been talking alot about the house that we looked at this weekend. We have decided that we are NOT going to get it. So the hunt is still on.

*still nothing from CSI. I called and left them another message. I'm getting a little irritated.

can i do it again tonight?

So i was feeling pretty good yesterday after the "bootcamp" workout. i thought i would have been much sore-er then i was feeling (I don't think that is the correct way of saying that but it will get the point across). Well it all came late last night and this morning. I AM SO SORE! I don't know if i can do it tonight...but i will. I am not going to be able to move on Saturday! Or Friday for that matter. LOL.

Well i got some mroe stuff done last night. I took down all the pictures in the house, made a pile with them and then started wrapping them in bubblewrap. WE HAVE TOO MANY PICTURES! I did it for about 1.5 hours and i am still not finished, only about 4-5 big ones left. I had done other things earlier in the evening or i think i would have gotten it completly finished. But my back was hurting sitting there on the floor. So i'll finish that up at lunch time today. fun fun. The joys of packing up all your crap. :)

So we played with this cool table in one of the waiting rooms in the hospital. I thought i'd find it and show you it. So click here. We thought about making one for a coffee table. We'd be the coolest Aunt & Uncle's place to visit. :)

OK, so here are the two pictures of the snow that Tiffany took this past Saturday. I am kind of sad that i missed it. I have a feeling i am NOT going to get much snow in Twin Falls. It's SO much warmer there.

LONG weekend in Twin...

...which was unexpected.

Friday i left Rexburg and stopped in Burley to pick up some stuff for my friend Tiffany at her parents house. Then it was over to the in-laws place (in Paul) to meet Kevin & Jeff. They were finishing the tile job in their parents kitchen. We left Paul/Burley at 12:45am friday night/Saturday morning and got to Jeff's place at about 1:30am. We all were in bed by 2am. Sometime around 6am Jeff comes out to wake up Kevin to tell him that he's gotta take Barbara to the hospital. She was having some contractions and "leaking fluid". So we said go and we'll watch Karter. Well sure enough we got a phone call a few hours later saying to bring the camera they are having the baby. So i drop it off at the hospital for them. We got another call about 3 hours later to bring Karter by to see is new baby brother. So we get there and i get to hold the baby. They named him Karson Bryce Brown. While i was holding Karson he was sleeping and making these weird "chirping" type noise while he laid there. The nurse came in and took him to give him a bath. She said she is going to get him to cry and see if he continues to do that. Well she came back in without Karson and said she took him over to the NICU to have him looked at. Well turns out he had fluid on his lungs. So, he has been in there ever since about noon on Saturday. He is doing VERY well now. Looks like he might get to come home Friday. I stayed out in Twin till yesterday afternoon watching Karter for Jeff & Barbara so they can be at the hospital with Karson. Barbara got home last Monday night. She is doing really well. I hope to have pictures for you soon! he looks nothing like Karter did when he was born. It's light night & day. Karter was blonde (almost bald) and fair skinned. Karson has BLACK hair and lots of it and olive skin.

We had heard reports of snow to the East of Twin Falls, so i texted my friend Tiffany to see if Rexburg got any. Well she called me back and told me there was easily 2-3 inches of snow and it was still falling! So check out her blog to see some pictures she took. Amazing! She lives about 2-3 blocks from me. I can't believe i missed it! I'm sure there is more to come though. As i drove in last night you would have NO idea that it even looked like that on Saturday.

I have not heard yet from the job at CSI. I am a little nervous, but i haven't gotten a "Thanks but no thanks" letter or email. So i am assuming all is well (hopefully). I am calling them today to see the status of what is happening.

I think we might have found another house. It's a bit older but it's in a great location and it's got alot of potential to be a really nice house. The unfinished basement will be nice to have finished...over the years. I'll let you know what we decide on that. So i have to REALLY get packing up the house! I should hopefully get a call by Friday about when we might close on the sale of our house here. It's finally coming to an end.

Last night i went to a "bootcamp" workout class with my friend Dyan up on campus. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE!!! In the first 5 mins of class i was thinking "how can i get out of here without causing a scene?!" Well i stuck it out and i am alive...barely. I am going to keep going and hopefully get some help in the loosing weight category.

So i got some good packing in last night. I finished off the two book shelves and took them apart. I also went and got more boxes from our friend Eric. He filled up my trunk with boxes. It was great! THANKS!

I'm heading out to Twin again this weekend. We have an appointment to look at a house on Saturday at 1pm. I am excited. Seems like a good lead on a place. It wouldn't be available until Nov 1, i think, so it would still keep Kevin at Jeff & Barb's for the month. Which is going to get tricky seeing how their baby is going to be born by the 14th. I know the date she is scheduled on to have her c-section (Jeff slipped and told Kevin), but i can't say anything in case other Brown family members read this, which I'm sure they don't. But Jeff & Barb are keeping the date from the families cause they want some time to themselves at the hospital before the families invade.

I am going to try to get some more packing done this evening before i go see our friends Tina & Jared who will be in town tonight. They moved to the mid-west this past April. I am excited to see them again. I just wish Kevin could be here as well. Tina was my roommate and Jared was Kevin's roommate while we were at Ricks College. They got married two years before we did. Should be a fun evening.

I went to our exercise room in our clubhouse hoping & praying that I'd get the elliptical. Well someone beat me too it. Dang it! I was delayed at work so i didn't get over there until almost 5:40pm. So instead of getting back in the car and going to the gym on campus i reluctantly took the treadmill. My knees and ankles DO NOT like the pounding on the treadmill, but i endured it just for the sake of working out. Well, this morning i got up and could barely walk down the stairs. My ankle's were so stiff! Here's to hoping i can get the elliptical today!

OK, i love animals. I like them to be well loved and take care of. But i'm sorry...matching outfits is just crazy to me!

Beautiful Sunday

So Saturday was crazy weather. Sunday was blue sky, slight breeze, and a little crisp-ness in the air. Beautiful! We were pretty "lazy" after church. Kevin was not feeling well, so i made him lay down most of the day. There was a slight protest, but he did what i asked. our wonderful home teachers came over. We will truly miss them when we move! I made 8 loaves of Zucchini bread. I made him take some to work and out to Jeff & Barbara's. He stayed the night last night last night and left this morning. So he will work late to make up the time he misses this morning this evening. We did very little packing this weekend. So i will need to beef up my efforts during the week. We'll see how it goes.

Well it's Monday and I'm ready for the weekend already. LOL. Here's to hoping the week goes fast!
