It's not even October...

...and we are getting SNOW!!! It's not alot but its still snowing! It's not sticking on the ground here in town, but i think up north it is because we've seen a few cars that have some snow collected on their back windows near the trunk of their cars. CRAZY!!!!

Back in good ol' Rexburg

I got into town Thursday around 1:30. Stopped at the house and unloaded the car, ran to the bank, video store, and then in the office by 2pm. Then went straight into a meeting from 2:30-4pm and worked till 7pm last night. This morning I've had two other meetings, but it looks like i will be at my desk for the rest of the day (other then taking lunch) which will be nice to clean some things off it.

While driving into Rexburg, i realized how much I'm going to miss it! I have gotten SO use to the small town feel. Twin Falls is just big enough to be a bit annoying with all the cars and people. I don't know how i did LA for 5+ years! The thought of ever going back to live in LA scares me. But i don't see that happening anytime soon.

I walked into our house and it just felt SO NICE to be home. In our little house. I am so going to miss it!!! Kevin comes home tonight for the weekend and we will do a bit of packing. It's sad to think we are already packing when we just unpacked in June. Oh well. We'll find another place we love (hopefully sooner rather then later).

My interview went well yesterday morning. I think i made a great impression! It turns out that one of the guys I interviewed with knows my current boss. So i told Steve to put in a good word for me. :) I wouldn't be surprised if i got called back in for the 2nd round of interviews. I should know something at the beginning of next week, where i stand. So keep those thoughts and prayers coming. I would be shocked if i didn't get called back. I would be pretty heart broken too. So I'll let you all know when i hear something.

Can I just say i love blogs?! My sister Natalie told me where to find my old friend Adam Barlow's blog. What a great connection blogging is!

Hang in Twin...for another day

HELLO! I have been in Paul/Twin Falls since Friday evening. It was a long weekend in Paul. Jeff & Kevin put in tile flooring in their parent's kitchen and dining room. IT LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER!!! I am not a fan of carpet in the kitchen/dining room. The tile makes it looks so much bigger. I know that Doug & Linda really appreciated the boys doing it. I told them it was a trial run for Jeff & Kevin to put it in our house...when ever we find another place. I'll post pics when i get home and can down load them.

So for those of you that are wondering. Here is the low down on the house. So i waited almost 3 weeks before putting up a sign in our front yard to sell our house. I finally put one up on Sept 4th. We got quite a few interested people and then on Sept 11th we accepted on offer. On Sept 20th i heard that everything should go through just fine, they had been approved, etc... I was told that it could only take 2-3 weeks for their money to come in. SO here's to hoping we can get packed up and ready to go when it's time for closing. I was planning on doing quite a bit of packing this week. Well i can't really do it if I'm not there. Oh well. It will get done.

I'm still in Twin Falls. I planned on going back home today, but yesterday i got a call from CSI for an interview!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE everyone pray that this job would work out for me. I really don't have alot of other prospects for jobs. The reason I've been in Twin even this long is because Kevin had a work party Tuesday night and he REALLY wanted me to go. So i decided to take some sick time and stay a bit longer. Well looks like I'll be here another day. It's been nice seeing Kevin more then 48 hours. I will head home (and to work) tomorrow after my interview. WISH ME LUCK!!!

Kevin's work party was really cool. It was a float tour down the Snake River with dinner. It was way good and free for us. Check it out here.

Hope every one's week is going well.

What The Heck?!?

So, i've been having this issue now for a while. I go to bed around 10:30pm. Without fail i will wake up at 1am. Drives me crazy. Then i go back to sleep after a while and then wake up at about 4:30am. Then i am in and out of sleep until my alarm goes off at about 6:45am. Well this morning i was WIDE AWAKE at about4:45am. Finally at 5am i decided that i wasn't going to go back to sleep. So instead of possibly waking up our new neighbors with attempts at packing up books. I decided to go to the exercise room. So i was there by 5:10am done about an hour later. I feel good! I worked out last night too. This might be the begining of actually FINALLY getting back into shape! WOO HOO!!!!!

So, i am heading to Twin this weekend. Should be good. Kevin's driven out 3 weekends in a row and with our house "sold" we thought it would be good to do a little more house hunting of our own. So we'll see how it goes.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!! Have a great weekend!
P.S. ONE of my biggest pet peeve's is that in public bathrooms people don't make sure EVERYTHING is flushed down before they leave the stall. I will stand there and wait till i know everything is gone. Well i walked into the restroom on campus today by the bookstore and SOMEONE didn't make sure and of course everyone that walks in there now can see they are getting a visit from "aunt flow". UGH! NASTY!!!

We've caught up to the rest of the world!

REXBURG IS NOW RECYCLING!!!

Yeah, we are slow to catch on but sure enough they have started it this week and it's very exciting. Too bad we will be moving in probably a month. LOL. Oh well. We'll (I'll) do our part while i'm still here. So this is the lovely article that came out in the Newspaper yesterday.

Sam & Dallin

So here are some cute pictures of Natalie's boys Sam & Dallin while they were at their friend's house playing.

Dallin @ the top of the slide

Sam @ the top of the slide

Sam @ the bottom of the slide. LOL.

worked out!

I went and worked out last night! I am so proud of myself! LOL. I got home changed my clothes and left. Didn't turn on the TV, the radio, nothing! So nothing distracted me to keep me from going to the exercise room in our club house. So i did the elliptical and then went swimming. It felt good!

Then and Now....and hopefully the future

OK, so i've made a decision, I HAVE TO GET IN SHAPE!!! My friend Kerri just ran a triathalon. We are the same age. My friend Heather ran one as well not too long ago. I am so PROUD of them! But it kind of makes me feel a bit like a loser and its all my doing. I've become VERY lazy since being married. They are much more determinded and motivated. I also remember at the begining of summer my plan was to be able to ride my bike up Poleline road here in town without stopping by the end of summer. I haven't been trying or practicing or anything. What a loser i am. UGH! I am not doing it just to look good, but that is a total benefit. But i need to get healthy so i will hopefully be able to get pregnant and carry a baby to full term. With my PCOS it's ideal if i were in much better shape then i am now.

Here are some pictures of my days in High School and from Ricks College. These are all from about 1995-1998. My "then" pictures.

THEN...

Me as a Sr. year of high school at our Volleyball Banquet. (1995)

Sr. year with my friend Linds. Look how skinny my face is! (1995)

My sister Natalie and I as i prepared to graduate High School (1996).

Me eating while attending Ricks College (Summer 1997).

Me and my roommate Karianne with our Christmas Tree (1998).

NOW....

Can anyone say...NASTY!!! Kevin & I at Jackson Hole, WY (2007).

In High School and College i used to think i was SO FAT!!! WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING?!?! I looked GOOD! I want you all bugging me (and encouraging me) about what i am doing or what i need to do or giving me ideas of what i could be doing. Apparently i need some (alot of) pushing. :) I know i'm not 18 any more, but i don't want to turn 30 (in about 7 months) and look like i do now. I want to look good and feel good about myself! I want to get back to my "Then" size.

rented movies

So i rented two movies yesterday (only because i had a 2 for 1 coupon). One a chick-flic that i watched last night so Kevin didn't have to endure it. So nice of me i know. It was "Because I Said So". I thought it was cute. Kevin would have DIED if i made him watch it. The other is "Blades of Glory". This i have to wait for Kevin. I remember when we saw it in the theater we laughed SO HARD! I wanted to buy it when it came out but Kevin said lets rent it and watch it again before we buy it, since it had been a while since we saw it the first time. I am SO looking forward to it. I need a good laugh.

Last night i wasn't in the best of moods and NOTHING as sounding good for dinner and so i ate RANDOM "snacks". I had pickles, brownies and popcorn. No wonder i can't loose weight huh? ;) Actually, i haven't even really been trying. I have a HUGE lack of motivation, which just makes me feels worse and then i am more depressed and lazy. I thought with Kevin gone during the week I'd be able to eat healthy small meals and yada yada yada. But so far that has not happened in the four weeks he has been working out in Twin Falls. I'd LOVE some advise from those of you that have had this surge of empowerment to become active (again).

"vacation" pictures

My parents got into town late Thursday evening. Surprising me a bit. But we pretty much just got them settled in for the evening and we all went to bed.

Friday we spent the day in Idaho Falls. My parents didn't bring church clothes so that meant...SHOPPING! Mom got two new skirts and a pair of shoes. Which she bought me a pair as well. Dad got a new shirt and tie. Dad found a chair most places we went, cause mom and i would just go running off. Kevin got home that evening and i think that was really nice for dad. Someone to talk to.

Saturday we went to Jackson Hole, WY. We went to see the Bar J Wranglers. They are Amazing! Mom bought two of their CDs. Here is a link to their website. Bar J Wranglers.

Here is a picture of the Idaho side of the Teton Mountaions.

Sunday we went to chruch and then went up to Mesa Falls. Mom's camera ran out of batteries so she didn't get any pictures.

Monday it was back up to Jackson for a float trip down the river mom planned for us, but before that we made our way out to Mud Lake. There is a town called Mud Lake, and there really is a lake there. It was much bigger then i thought it would be. Our float trip was really cool. We were supposed to be able to see "wild life" well all we saw were birds and ducks. Nothing too exciting, but it was a nice little ride. THANKS MOM AND DAD!!!! Here are some pictures from our ride.
Teton Mountains (the WY side)

Mom & Dad in the raft floating down the snake river.

Me (Jackie) in the raft floating down the snake river.

Kevin in the raft floating down the snake river.

We got passed by some kyaker's.

Looks like fun to me. We should try it out.

Our tour guide Matt. He was only 22 years old. He'd been doing these tours for 3-4 years!

Kevin, Me, Dad, Mom and Matt our guide and the end of our ride.
We saw this moose just hanging out in the water, eating some food.
Here is a closer up view of the same moose.
This duck was in the same pond as the moose above. I guess they were both hungry.

Teton Mountains from "Moose Junction" where we caught our raft ride.

Another Moose in the Teton National Park.

Mama & baby moose getting some food. They were there for HOURS. I'd say atleast 4 hours. Totally stopping traffic on the over pass. It was pretty cool.

Close up of the baby moose.
We also saw some Deer on the mountain side on our drive home from our rafting trip.
Wednesday we took it "easy". Dad played raqetball against my boss Val. My dad is good, but Val gets in ALOT more practice then my dad. Dad said in the four games he played if you add up all his points he could have won one of the games. LOL. But he had a great time, so did Val. So we'll see if we can some how get together after we move to Twin Falls and have them play again. While dad was playing racketball Mom & I were at Rochelle's place "being crafty". We made these cute photo books or thought books or whatever you want to put in the books from envelopes and scrapbook paper. It's way cute. We took TOO much time doing it though.
Thursday we decided to go surprise my Aunt & Uncle up in Yellowstone with a visit. Well we get all the way up there to find out that they were in Idaho Falls working at the Temple! We were the one that got surprised! So we looked around in the shops, ate some lunch and came home. We stopped at Mesa Falls again so mom could get some pictures. We then met up with my aunt & uncle for dinner, here in Rexburg.
Mesa Falls.

Mom & Dad and Mesa Falls.
Friday we went to the Eastern Idaho State Fair. I had never been but my parents went last year when they were up on vacation. It was alot of fun. There was TONS of stuff to see. I think it's totally worth the $5 to get in. We didn't do any carnival rides or anything and we were still there for about 7 hours! Kevin came home again that night and we stayed up talking a bit before bed time.
Saturday mom and dad left at about 9am. So sad to see them go. But we had a good visit. Also on saturday Kevin met up with some old art friends of his. It's been atleast 8 years since he'd seen these guys. I think it was fun for him to catch up with them.
* I've shown the house a few times now. We have a few people interested so i'll keep you up to date on what happens. Please pray that one will go through and we will sell.

Potter Puppet Friends...

This is HILARIOUS!!! Thanks Em for sharing it!!!

I'M BACK!!

Well in body i am back, but not in mind. LOL. It's taken me until this afternoon to actually start some physical work, other than printing emails and catching up with people and things happening here. I'll have a MUCH longer post tomorrow with pictures. Had a great time with the folks and a nice break from the office. But it's also nice to be back.

I forgot to close the windows last night. It was 52 degrees IN MY HOUSE this morning! BURRRRR!!! It was about 35 outside. When i went home around 11:30 it was only 58 in there. chilly!!!! Fall is totally here!

Speaking of Fall. BYU-I starts back to school on Wednesday, it's CRAZY here right now. I tried to find a parking space on campus and it was impossible. I hate Fall semester! TOO many kids here. LOL.

my sneaky parents

So my parents are coming up this weekend for the whole week of Labor Day. I was expecting them tomorrow late evening. Well i called my mom at 12 noon "their time" and i asked why she was answering my dads cell phone. She said "i just picked it up." So i said "where are you?" Mom replied " uh, right now i don't know" I said "how can you not know where you are, have you left already? I didn't think you wanted to drive through the desert in the heat of the day." She said "well we aren't" Then all of a sudden she says "oh, we are pulling into Nephi" "WHAT? YOU ARE IN NEPHI (Utah) ALREADY??!!!" was my reply. So i'm guessing they might actually be HERE in a matter of an hour or two. Crazy people (that i do love dearly), trying to "surprise" me! Now i might not have the house picked up before they come, not that there's alot to do mind you. But i have NO FOOD in the house. So, this will be my last post until i come back to work on Monday Sept 10th! I love vacation time. So i hope you have a Fantastic Holiday and make it a safe one. I'll tell you all about my adventure's when i return. Much Love!

just a little funny...

9 WORDS WOMEN USE

1. Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2. Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine (refer to #1).

4. Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

5. Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but it is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6. That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7. Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome.

8. Whatever: Is a women's way of saying "SCREW" YOU!

9. Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?" For the woman's response refer to #3.

Weekend in Twin Falls

So i got to see Kevin this weekend. WHOOOO HOOOO!!!! I was so excited to see him. It was very hard leaving him on Sunday. I was a bawl baby. But I'm doing good today.

Friday night we went to dinner with Jeff & Barbara at this pizza place in Twin Falls called Gerties. It is SO yummmy! I love going to that place! I was trying to get Kevin's parents to come to dinner (and pay...hee hee) but Doug is on call for the City, so they couldn't come out. Oh well.

Saturday we did some house hunting and actually found a place that we really liked. So we are hoping all goes well and that we can get that place. It's brand new, actually not even finished yet, it's the same size we have now, but it's a HOUSE not a town home so we'd have a FULL YARD!! WOO HOO! Kevin is excited thinking he gets to mow a lawn and have a garden, i want the garden too. LOL. I think we may have found someone that is very interested in our place, so PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for us. I really hope it works out.

We also drove by the Twin Falls Temple. It's a bit behind the Rexburg one, and it's totally smaller then the Rexburg one too! But it will still be nice to have one in town! Here are some pictures i took.

Kevin will be home this weekend. He will actually be home for 4 days! With the holiday on Monday and he is taking Tuesday off as well. My parents come up from So. Cal. this Friday and will be spending the week with us (me). I am really looking forward to their visit. Should be fun.

So i guess that's about it from here. I am feeling MUCH better than i was the past week. Thank goodness! Happy Monday everyone.

A Day at Home

So i still wasn't feeling all that great this morning (still). So i stayed home today to rest. Well i did do a bit of laying around (reading) but i also made TEN loaves of Zucchini bread! Rochelle gave us some HUGH zucchini's from her garden and I've been meaning to make them over a weekend, well it never happened. So i figured today is a better then any. I had the oven going from 10am to 3:30pm and the house hasn't gotten warmer then 68 degrees inside (windows have been open all day). I LOVE THIS COOL WEATHER!!!!

Cave Falls

Saturday we had the Larsen's & Taryn & Alex over from some Hamburgers. Then the Larsen's and us went to Cave Falls. Alex & Taryn are training for a marathon, so they went for an 11 miles run. NO THANK YOU! It rained the whole drive up there, and not just little rain drops either. But as soon as we got close, it stopped. The weather was partly cloudy, cool and hardly any bugs. Though Rochelle and I still some how got bitten by misquito's. We had fun playing in the cold water, skipping rocks and going on one of the trails for awhile. Kevin was teaching the boys to throw trees and sticks into the water and watch them go down the falls. Kevin's back was a bit sore on Sunday. I wonder why. LOL.

Kevin & I at Cave Falls.
The Larsen's (Eric & Rochelle, Robbie Kamren & David)
On our drive back from the falls, we saw this mama & baby mule deer. They were probably about 50 yards off the road. It was really cool. We also saw an owl, but didn't get a picture of it because our camera battery had died. I guess i should have charged it. Oops. Plus TONS of free range cattle all over the roads.
Then we got back to our place, ate some pizza and then went swimming. It was a good but busy day. It seemed like people were treating it like a "going away party" since kevin was leaving Sunday to go start his new job and they didn't know when they would see him again.

Where are my keys?!?!

I had to run up to campus for a minute this morning and so i decided to do a soda run for Kathy & I. On my way i was talking to my sister Carolyn. Well i am parked in Horkley's parking lot and i turned off the car and took out the keys. We finish our conversation and then i grab my change, my cup to refill and go inside. Well i fill up our drinks, pay and go to leave and i couldn't find my keys. Well sure enough they were sitting on the front passenger seat in my LOCKED car! I couldn't tell you the last time i locked my keys in my car. I actually don't know if i've even done it before! So i go inside and they let me use their phone, mine is locked in the car too, and so i call Jeff over at Christensen Auto Shop and he tells me it will be $20, i said that's fine. He comes over and gets in the car in a matter of 2 minutes! It was crazy! Kind of scary knowing how fast someone could get into my car if they have the right tools. He said on the phone he had a brick that would get me in, but i opted not for the brick. LOL. Here is the real kicker...I DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY HIM! He said it was fine and that he needed a break to get away from the shop. I need to do something nice for him. :)

Kevin left last night for Twin to start his new job. I am very curious how it's going. I hope he likes it. I can't wait to see him Friday night! We really haven't been away from each other too much during our marriage, so this is going to be interesting for both of us!
