So my sister Carolyn & her family got Rockband Worldtour for the Wii. And we had a bit of fun Friday evening before we left. Here are some videos i recorded on my phone. So they aren't the best looking...but you can hear things really well.

We are home...in Idaho

We made it home yesterday around 3:30pm. Thanks to a call from my friend Emily we knew which way to enter our subdivision. The streets are not plowed and its bad! We parked in the street, shoveled the driveway, and then pulled in. :)

We are glad to be home, but sad to leave family in CA and get back into "real life" other then "vacation life". But we had a great time! PLUS... My sister Natalie came out from NC to surprise me! Boy was i surprised!!! I was so excited to see them. My nephew's were very shy around me, but warmed up by the end of the few days we saw each other.

So apparently all the news about shoppers NOT shopping...does not consider Redlands. There are SO MANY shoppers out! I was one of them yesterday. Well...i was just going as "moral support" for my sister Carolyn as she was trying to find two last things. Turns out...she found nothing and i made a purchase! YAY!!

Kevin & I have been looking for a new comforter for our bed. With no luck. Well when we stopped in St. George on our way down we walked around Bed, Bath & Beyond to "stretch our legs". Well we ended up finding a new comforter that we liked. So i took a picture of it so we'd remember what it's called. Plus we didn't have the $$ to get it, even on the sale price of $99. Well there so happens to be a new Bed, Bath & Beyond in Redlands. So we ventured in yesterday. Found the same comforter...for only $79...regular price! I was SO excited. Called Kevin, asked if i could get it and use the Christmas money we had just gotten. He agreed! YAY!!!

So last night i was telling my mom of our purchase and she said. "OH! I wish i had known you were going i have a 20% off coupon!" Darn it! So, we decided to go and see if we can use it, or i'd return it and just buy a new one. Well i didn't end up having to get a new one, they just did their magic on the cash register and took off the 20%. WOOO HOOOO!!!! So i now got it for like $65!

HAPPY DAY!!!!

We made it!

We now currently at my parents house in Redlands. It's so great to be home! I can't believe how much things change in 3 years. We had dinner with my sister Carolyn and her family. The kids are SO BIG it's not even funny. My nephew Alec towers over me at 14yrs old. Lovely! I just wish my sister Natalie was here with her family. There is always next year right?

Well the roads were pretty good considering the weather in which we were leaving. So we made it to SLC last night and had dinner with our best friends Chris & Sarah and with Kevin's bro & this family. Great food and great company. Chris & Sarah bought us a gift...you'll be soon introduced to "BLING Crosby". That's what we've decided to name him. :) Then this morning (well all day) drove from SLC to Redlands.

We had an In-N-Out burger in St. George for lunch today. IT WAS DIVINE!!!! We couldn't eat it fast enough! The place was packed as all usually are. But it was because all the BYU people were driving to Vegas for the Bowl game...in which they LOST! lol.

Anyways, i better run. Time for bed.

We are just getting hammered with snow storms and i am SO nervous that we aren't going to make it down to CA. I'm sure all will be fine...but i worry!!! And what's up with Las Vegas getting snow?!?

We take off tomorrow and I have so much to do tonight it's not even funny. Plus i have a primary dinner i should go to, but we'll see. And i still need to get the oil changed in the car. UGH!!!

lesson learned

So i learned this morning that swearing at your garage door to close in a wind storm doesn't help it close! I sat there trying to close the garage door for 15-20mins this morning! I just ended up having to pull the little red cord and latch it closed. So my morning has started on a sour note. :(

on another note...I LOVE MY CALIFORNIA CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN IS DAYS...NOT WEEKS! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just briefly checked the High's for Saturday when we arrive... Redlands 57...Jerome 9. ummm. i'll take 57 ANY DAY!

Right now in Jerome is 15...but feels like -3 with 24mph winds! fun times.

I can not believe I'll be leaving for California a week from TOMORROW! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so stinkin' excited to go home for Christmas this year. I miss my family!

Rockband for the wii

So Thanksgiving day was pretty much RULED by Rockband for the Wii. Kevin's brother Keith brought it. Kevin LOVED IT!!!! His fingertips were all tingly that night and the next morning from playing so much. Kevin got two videos on his cell phone. Not that big or best quality...and i look AWFUL. But here you go....


First video is kevin's parents and then there is Keith & I. I was playing the bass guitar. I was a little more animated before kevin started filming. :)

Christmas Lights

Here are the pics of Kevin on the roof putting up our Christmas lights (not in order). I bet it was about 40 degrees but the wind was wicked cold!! We were freezing!!! Plus it was about 4:30 in the afternoon when we were doing this so it was getting cooler & darker by the minute.







We now have lights on the front pole on the porch. I'll have to get a picture of that too.

weekend update

We had a great weekend. Thanksgiving was good. It didn't "feel" like Thanksgiving. It was weird. It was just like another family dinner. Kind of sad actually that it was that way. We were glad that Lynn, Shauna & Charlee were able to stay with us. Ended on a bit of a sour note Sunday night when Charlee got sick. poor little girl. Kevin was under the weather on Sunday as well. So i ventured to church alone. Kevin & I for the first time ever got to hang Christmas lights on our house!! I must say they look GREAT! I have pictures of the adventure of hanging the lights in the cold & wind. But i need to download them still. So hopefully i get to that here soon.

So now we just push through these 2.5 weeks of work and then we are OFF TO CALLFORNIA! woo hoo!!!! Our weather, according to the weatherman is above normal. So we haven't seen snow in our area yet (that has stuck around). But i am totally ready for it! Lynn was saying in UT that they were told they wouldn't see snow really till January. Kind of sad. I hope for people spending Christmas here will have a white Christmas. Mine will probably be 80 degrees. :)

...and the calling is...

NURSERY LEADER! I know i am a bit dramatic about it. But with my struggles of lack of pregnancy that's not the place i want to be. All these young mother's rubbing it in my face that they have kids and i don't. Well, I'm sure they are not rubbing it in my face, but there will be days when i will take it like that. I actually thought i was going to be R.S. teacher and i was hoping for it. But unfortunately Jen, who i am replacing in the nursery got that position. We talked about it yesterday and she said she would gladly stay in Nursery and i can teach R.S. :) But the Bishop didn't think it was a good plan...i asked. LOL.

Kevin's calling is.... Ward Mission Leader.

This is a growing period for both of us that's for sure!

church callings...

Well...i haven't had a church calling since Aug 2007! How did i do that?? Well we were moving from our Rexburg ward and we didn't know what weekends we'd be in town and such...so we were released. Then we moved to Twin Falls right in time for the Winter Holiday's. So we got kind of "passed over" for a while. Kevin then was given a calling and the Bishop asked if i had one and my reply was..."yes, i am an active participant in R.S. and it's fantastic!" I was never given a calling in that ward. I felt kind of bad. But oh well. Now we are in our new ward and we got called into the bishops office Tuesday night. All day i had a certain calling in mind that i was going to get. I was sure of it. Well it turns out that that is not the calling they gave me. I did not take the "new" calling well. I bawled in his office, i bawled all evening, i bawled all morning, I skipped work and went to the Temple, i bawled there, i bawled when i told me sister Natalie what they want me to do. I have not cried about it in about 36 hrs. I think I have come to terms with it and i'm sure it's going to be great. They said i should be set apart for it this Sunday.

* those are all great guesses so far...i think I'm a bit more dramatic for my own good. But then i think my reasons are justified. LOL.

worst dinner ever!

So yesterday we decided to try a crock-pot meal I've been wanting to make. Chicken & broccoli. I got it all ready and had it going before we left for church. Kevin's brother Jeff had given us some Rhodes Rolls. So i got those out, they were a little questionable to begin with, but thought we'd see how they rise. We get back from church and i check on the chicken....it's still pink! DUH! I should have had it on HIGH not LOW! The rolls still haven't risen, maybe a little, gave them another good hour or two...still nothing. Made the rice for the chicken. Put the rolls in the oven. Chicken was dry. Broccoli was over done. Rolls tasted like freezer burn. The rice was good! SO we threw out everything but the rice. LOL. We've only thrown out the whole meal like that once before when Kevin decided to try to make something out of leftovers....which did NOT work! We had a good laugh. I have thrown away the recipe since it was nasty!
