Quick Update

So Thursday i was supposed to take the Fowler's family pictures, but due to laundry not getting done, pictures did not happen. But we did hang out a while before Kevin got home from work and we went to dinner. We had a great time hanging out and chatting. I really wish we lived closer together.

Friday was another day of work and then Kevin and I jumped in the car and drive to Utah to spend the night with Lynn & Shauna. Saturday we went to Lagoon for BYU-Idaho/Ricks College Alumni Day. We planned for 1000 but only about 1/2 that showed. But it went really well though and it was a manageable size. We didn't ride rides we just left after cleaning up and went back to Lynn & Shauna's. We then headed to IKEA. Walked around there and ran into some friends we knew from Alhambra. Which was nice to say hello to them. Then we went to dinner and back to L&S's place. We played a karaoke PS2 game and Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) PS2 game. It was TOTALLY FUN!!!! I didn't realize they made those for PS2. I wouldn't mind getting those, because we loved them.

Sunday we went to church, ate a great lunch that Shauna prepared (Hawaiian Haystacks) and then we stopped over at the Mazuran's for a few hours. They only live one off-ramp from each other. Pretty dang cool. It was SO fun to hang out with them, though we totally made the kids starve because we showed up late. We need to make more trips down there. Man i miss them. I can't believe how BIG the kids are. Max is SO tall and skinny! Sarah said he is about a head taller then all the kids in his class. I wouldn't be surprised. Sam is adorable. Lilly is just too cute! She looks just like Sarah. She is about 2 months old and is starting to wear 3-6 month clothes. She is weighing in at about 14 pounds.

So i didn't get any pictures taken when we were with Lynn & Shauna, or the Mazuran's. But i did get a pic of Brody and one of Kate & I.

To make a long story short, i work with a lady named Gracie, she is married to Kate's father's cousin. LOL. Gracie invited me to a family dinner that was happening last night. I AM SO GLAD I WENT! It was so much fun to see the Leseberg family again. It seems like forever ago that i saw them. We got to the dinner at 6pm, i didn't leave to come home till about 10pm! I had a blast chatting with Kate, Sarah, and Laura. Poor Kevin and Bob (Sarah's husband) just sat quietly listening to us jabber (Brent chased after Brody all night). Then Kate, Laura & I went to "Big J's" and had a milkshake, which was SO YUMMY! I need to take Kevin over there.

I am taking off right now to go home and pick up the house before Kate, Brent & Brody come over. I am going to ATTEMPT to take their family photos. We'll see how it goes. I am SO looking forward to hanging out with Kate some more. It's been WAY TOO LONG.

Anniversary

We celebrated our 7th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY on Sunday. I can't believe we have been married 7 years (July 22, 2000 in the Idaho Falls Temple). The time has sure flown by! This is a really bad scan of a picture but it's all i have at work right now. Maybe i'll find some better ones tonight and get those up tomorrow. We look so young! I guess i was 22. WOW!

NUMBER 200!!!

Where's the party? Balloons? This is my 200th post! Do you think i spend too much time blogging? Probably. LOL.

Well, i survived Cap & Gown, Graduation, Ed Week and our Alumni Ambassador Training. Which was all the 17-21st (last week/end). I was SO tired and worn out that i took off Monday and then yesterday was a "holiday" (Pioneer Day). Gotta love working for the church. :) Apparently my boss came in yesterday for 2 hours and wondered where everyone was and why he couldn't get ahold of anyone. LOL. Too funny!

We are heading to UT this weekend. I am pretty excited. We are helping out with the BYU-Idaho/Ricks College Alumni Day at Lagoon. Should be a great turn out. We are expecting about 1000. CRAZY!!! Last year we ran out of food. We better not this year! Then we are going to stay with Lynn & Shauna and spend some time with them and then go see our good friends Chris & Sarah and see their new little girl. I can't wait!

OH! Tomorrow...I GET TO SEE KATE!!!! I'm so excited. We haven't seen each other in almost 2 years!! Nuts! I need to give her a call and make sure we are still on. I hope so. I'll be so sad if it doesn't work out. :(

I FINISHED Harry Potter #7 yesterday. I was very pleased with it. But sad it's over now. I don't know what to look forward to. I called my sister-in-law, Barbara, last night to "gloat" that i had finished. We were at about the same spot on Monday (or was it Sunday...i can't remember). Granted i sat ALL DAY Monday & Tuesday just reading! Barbara has a little bit of a distraction...an almost 2 year old! With it just me, it's way easy to just sit and read all day. It was lovely. :)

Well i guess i should get some stuff done today. LOL. Hope all is well. Can you believe it will be August next week?!? WOW!!! This year is just flying by!

need to give myself more credit...

So i just got back from taking the dreaded test. There were about 60 bubble sheet questions and about 50 write on questions...so i don't know how i did on the write on...pretty good i think. But on the bubble sheet part i got a 97%!!!! YEAH BABY!!!!! According to Tiffany "i have to give myself more credit" cause i totally thought i was going to fail, big time! Man i am SO relieved. Now to go home and enjoy the evening.

Sorry...

So, sorry to my faithful readers for not updating, but truly work has been CRAZY! My desk is the worst i think i have ever seen it. I totally cried at work today cause i was just feeling SO overwhelmed with everything going on. I seriously am making myself sick to my stomach. I have to take a test today and i am PETRIFIED cause i am NOT going to do well on it. I've got this final project that my group needs to do, and we have to have it done for our final class on Monday. We aren't meeting until 3pm on Saturday. It's going to be CRAZY!!! Then next week, don't plan on any updates from me, cause i will be running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I always do around graduation. But this is graduation, ed week, and Ambassador training. Heaven Help Me!

Celebrating, Shopping & Fireworks

So Tuesday was Kevin's B-day...i won't tell you how old he is...but we had a little celebration for him. Since it was in the "middle" of the week, family couldn't make it out, but we had some of our great friends over (Alex/Taryn, Tiffany/Donny, Eric/Rochelle & their boys). We had Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner, which is one of Kevin's FAVORITE meals. Then we played cranium. That was alot of fun. Tiff & Donny had a little problem with the dice, they would only move like one spot at a time instead of "big jumps" like the rest of us got. It was fun to see everyone act out things and sing/hum songs. I love that game. We talked alot, so that was fun too.THANKS everyone for coming!!!

Wednesday we went to the Rexburg Parade. It was really a bunch of pick up trucks with signs taped to the sides and people throwing taffy (mostly), and candy to the kids. We rode our bikes over, parking would have been a nightmare. I don't know if we'll see the parade next year, we aren't too impressed with it. Though there was a float of a motorcycle man with a mullet (i wish we had our camera). Rexburg MotorSports here in town is holding a mullet contest. I need to go check out everyone's pictures that are participating and vote.

After the parade we went to Idaho Falls and did some b-day shopping for Kevin. He needed some news clothes/shoes BAD! We found some great deals, we were pretty excited. Kevin said he felt like he was school shopping. LOL.

After shopping with went to Eric & Rochelle's for dinner, games and fireworks. It was my first time EVER doing fireworks. It was alot of fun, but also a slight waste in money. But i think we'd still do them again next year. LOL.

Craters Continued...

So it was CRAZY WINDY at the top of this "hill" and we were laughing so hard at how my hair was just flying everywhere. I always have little "fly aways" but my hair wasn't even staying in the bun i had it in. Kevin had to hold his baseball hat because he was afraid of loosing it. Kevin was guessing the wind was about 40-50 mph. You had to prop yourself just right or you felt like you were going to get blown over.

This is me walking down that hill that the above pictures were taken on top of. It's a VERY deceiving hill. It doesn't look that big, but once you start climbing it, it is much bigger then it appears to be. But you get a beautiful view.

Craters of the Moon

Friday Kevin & I decided to go to Craters of the Moon National Park on Saturday but when the time came (after i had an event that morning which i got up VERY early for) i really didn't want to go. But we did and i'm glad. We had a blast. I went to Craters with my parents when they were up last Labor Day Holiday but we didn't go "exploring". Kevin and I did a bit of that, and it was tons of fun. We need to take my parents back out there this labor day when they come up again. Below are pictures of us in i believe Indian Cave. It was way cool. If you are ever in south central Idaho, you should make a trip there. It's cool!

So our niece Charlee turned one last Sunday. We had a party for her last Saturday. I thought it's about time i put up some pictures of the big FIRST birthday party.

Fudge Stripe Fruit Salad

I had this at my niece’s party last Saturday. It was really good. So I thought I would pass on the recipe. A nice cool summer treat.

Fudge Stripe Fruit Salad

1 package vanilla instant pudding
1 cup buttermilk
8 ounces Cool Whip
1 can mandarin oranges
1 can chunk pineapple
1 can fruit cocktail
1/2 package Fudge Stripe cookies

Mix pudding, buttermilk and cool whip in a large bowl. Drain fruit and then add to the mixture. Crumble the cookies and stir into the mixture right before you serve it. Best served chilled.

Test update...

I got my test back today. I had to do a double take on the score. I GOT A 96%!!!!!! I was so freakin' excited!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!

A little Doodle

We bought a new white board when we moved into the house. Ours was really old, and too small to cover up the breaker box that is in the kitchen hallway. After Kevin hung it up he made a little drawing for me. I love it. Thought you guys might think it's cute too.

Making Jam

Well this weekend we headed out to Paul/Twin Falls for a birthday party for our niece Charlee, and for Father's day. Well my mother-in-law and I decided we'd make some strawberry jam. I had mentioned to her that i wanted to learn. So here are some pictures from my adventure in Jam making.

While us girls were in the kitchen the boys were cleaning the garage from all the stuff to redo the counter tops. The mess had been in there for a month! I wouldn't have waited that long to clean it up. It would have drove me insane. LOL.

So i didn't get a picture of the final product, but i brought home about 1/2 of the containers we made...which i brought home 10 of them!!!

ugh...no results yet

So i had class today, and we still didn't get our tests back! I want to know what i got!!! Hopefully by tuesday we'll have them back. I think there are 2 girls in our class that still need to take it. I was on the ball and got it done right away. If i was really smart i wouldn't have missed it in the first place.

Work is good. busy.

We are heading to Twin Falls this weekend. It should be dang warm out there this weekend. I think we are supposed to hit about 87, which is hot for here. :) Especially when most places (homes) don't have A/C. Good thing is usually cools down at night. Plus we are attending a BBQ/birthday party for our niece Charlee who turns one on Sunday. I can't believe it's been a year. Time is flying! So we will be outside i think most of the late afternoon on Saturday. But we will be getting the last of our things out of Jeff's basement, which includes our ceiling fan we brought with us from CA. So it will be nice to have that installed in our new bedroom. I love ceiling fans.

Anywho...hopefully i'll take some pics this weekend. It would be nice to post some sometimes. :) So you have atleast something to look at while you listen to my ramblings.

test update...

So i took my test this morning at 9:15am. I had to sit at the front desk of the secretary of the department. It was interesting. LOL. I think i did rather well, other then one of the essay questions. I don't think i got it "just right", so who knows what i will get. I'd say atleast as good as i did before, if not better (I hope).

For treats i just bought some mini candy bars because i just didn't have time to "make" something nor did i want to heat up the house with the oven. I was not the only one that forgot. There were 9 people that forgot out of her 3 classes. I was glad to see that i wasn't the only one. We didn't get our tests back today, because there are others that need to take it. So, maybe by thursday we'll get it back and i'll let you know how i did.

Monday

Well we had a good weekend. Thursday we had our friends over for a BBQ and games. Friday we watched "Superman Returns" vegging in the bean-bag. Saturday we went to the Temple, lunch, ran errands while in Idaho Falls, went to a work dinner and a concert at the school. It was a WAY good show. You should check them out...

I realized saturday night at 7pm i had FORGOTTEN all about a test that i was to take that morning. luckily with some pleading with my teacher and the promise of treats for class, i get to take it tomorrow morning. I will never let that happen again. Ugh! I can't believe i forgot!

So tonight i have to make/buy some treats and study for a test and do some homework. fun night for me.

We are getting more settled into the house. It's coming along great. We even have a few things hung on the wall. :)

House story

OK, since Heather is so curious, here is the story why "house house house" is so funny (to us atleast).

My best friend Kate was getting married (May 98) right after i finished a semester at Ricks College. Well i stayed with her & her family in UT till after the wedding and then went home to CA. Well, we moved Kate & Josh's stuff into their apartment and i was staying with Kate there the 2 days i think before they got married. Well Josh & Kate went out with his family or somewhere and i decided not to be the 3rd wheel and stayed at the apartment. Well i am not a night person, so she got home fairly late and i was already in bed. Either she woke me up to tell me she was home, or i just woke up because she got home. According to Kate this is what i said to her..."Jani called and she is at your parents house house house" and i drifted back to sleep. I don't recall making that statement, but this has given us a good laugh over the years. :) So that's all it is. So whenever i say house, kevin likes to say it three times back to me. Silly guy.

ham update

Our ham was really good. I think we might have over cooked it a bit. But it's still very tasting. We have TONS of leftovers. I bet we will be eating it into the weekend.

My finger is good. I took off my band-aid last night and i cut it a little higher then i originally thought. I got it right at the nail cuticle (sp?). I cleaned it real well, so hopefully it won't get infected. I've got it covered up again today for work.

I didn't have class on tuesday and i must say i missed it. I've got it today and i am really glad. It's a nice break during the work day and a very informative and entertaining hour of the day.

Can I start over?

OK, so today has been "one of those days". I woke up at 6:30am which is just before my alarm is supposed to go off, so i just got up. Well it's a good thing i woke up because i forgot to set the alarm last night. I decide to just finish putting away the last of the kitchen stuff before getting in the shower. 45 mins later i finally got in the shower. I then ate breakfast. Then i realized i hadn't thought of how to cook the ham i thawed yesterday. So i grab my crock pot recipe book and found a recipe that i have everything for. Shouldn't take to long i thought. WRONG! Took me forever and i had to enlist Kevin to help when he came downstairs. Then i totally cut my finger and I'm bleeding everywhere. Get that under control. Leave Kevin to finish putting the stuff in the crock pot. Try to get ready with a bloody finger tip. Get to work an hour late (I have Comp time so it's totally OK, plus NO one is here except for Kathy, me and the students). I get here and listen to 2 phone calls from the lady that schedules events and tells me that she has cancelled ALL of them and i have to resubmit them under my name because of a change that happen in the Fall. So i was frantically doing that and i was swearing at her in my head because she is an idiot for cancelling them before talking to me. UGH! That makes me mad. Now i have to look at all the reservations under the other person's name and tell her to put it under mine now. I am so tired already. I had to go get a Pepsi to make it through the morning. And it's only 10:30. Can i start the day over...PLEASE?!?!

*my ham better turn out good. LOL.

house update

Well, we are in our house and completely out of our apartment. We had our "check out" appointment yesterday at 4:30pm, it was like having a "white glove" clean check from when we were in college. Hopefully we get our full deposit back. We did a GREAT job of cleaning and probably spent too much time doing it. The house is partically put together. There is stuff we need to rearrange and figure out where to stick some stuff, but it's coming along nicely. It's so weird to be in there now after watching it being built. I don't know when i'll get used to it. It's surprisingly quite in our neighborhood with all the little kids that live there. But summer has just begun, so we'll see how loud it gets. I bet it's mostly during the day when we aren't home they will be out and about. We are SO greatful to our friends and family members that helped with the move. It went smooth. So that was nice. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! Kevin is very excited to have his "own room" for his art studio. I am too because i can close the door and not look at the mess. ;)

By the way...all those deleted comments were "test" comments i was making in trying to help my sister figure out how to post a comment. So i wasn't getting any sort of nasty/mean comments.

house house house

We are offically HOME OWNERS!!! What a wonderful feeling after renting for so long. We signed papers yesterday and got the keys to our Townhouse. We can start moving in TODAY! It's changed a bit on the outside since landscaping has been done, and there will be no blue around the front windows. It's a long story, but that will be covered up soon!
