wii weekend

Friday Feb 29th was Kevin's Dad Doug's retirement party. We headed out there around 3pm to go to his city party. He worked for the City of Heyburn for 34 years! For Doug's retirement we all pitched in to get Doug a Wii, Linda did the most "pitching in". He has been wanting one, and Linda didn't want to spend the $$. Well she decided to do it for his retirement gift. He was so excited! So that Friday we played, laughed and had a great time. Kevin & I played till about midnight and then he went played by himself until after 1am! The rest of us had went to bed. Here are some pictures of our weekend of Wii!

Kevin & Jeff truly getting into the boxing.

Victory was Kevin's that match
Then it was boxing for me & Barbara (Jeff's wife)

Then it was time for Kevin & Doug to play some baseball

Linda & I on Saturday playing a game were you ride cows and try to run over as many scarecrows as you can. It's so much fun! We played multiple times. As you can tell i didn't do my hair. Lovely.
Linda in her nice bowling stance.

Man, that weekend of playing the Wii made us SO SORE! But it was SO much fun. Makes us want one all the more! But the Wii will have to wait. makes you notice how out of shape you are!

random things

5 DAYS and counting till my jobs change. I am SO excited to start the new job that i think this week might be a LONG one!

Here is the Valentine Card that Kevin made for me. I LOVE IT!! He also wrote some very lovely things on the inside too.

We got Kevin two more new ties. You'd think that he wears then everyday (which he doesn't). But we had to replace some ties he has had for like 15 years! LOL. We got his last two on clearance at JC Penny. They are great ties! We spent $9.00 and on the receipt it said..."You've saved $42.85". AWESOME!!

Saturday night we went for a drive to get out of the apartment. We decided to drive up to Magic Mountain where we camped once like 5-6 years ago. The roads were fantastic. We were chatting and i joked that we would run into a bear. Kevin said "no there are no bears in these mountains, but there are cougars (mountain lions), but I've never seen on before." Literally like 5 mins later there was a HUGE cougar walking up the other side of the road! We were shocked! It was totally awesome to see. Made me all the more nervous now to go camping up there. Mr Cougar was hunting for some dinner...it was about 7pm.

We meet with ANOTHER Realtor this past Saturday. Talked about the neighborhood, houses, taxes, etc. I am very excited to be actively now looking and getting ready to buy another house!

3rd job's the charm...

...you interested to know what going on?? I'll tell you later today! LOL.

HAPPY MONDAY

updated: Apparently no one is interested. But i'll tell you anyway. I haven't been all that happy at my job with the Hospital. Kevin told me his office was hiring, i inquired about the position, interviewed, was offered the position and accepted it! I have officially given my two weeks notice. We are way excited. It will be good. The pay will be much better then the hospital. Now we know where we will buy a house...in Jerome (Emily here we come!!). Since we will both be working there, there is no point in living in Twin and commuting. So that is the big news here. Here's to my 3rd job since December. LOL.

new things

Yesterday we ran lots of errands. Some weren't planned on. Such as blowing a tire on our way to Walmart in Jerome. Luckily our tires were under warranty, so that was an easy fix. Thank goodness we had the tire paperwork in the car still. That could have been an expensive fix.

NEW TIES!

Kevin has been in need of some new ties for Chruch. Alot of his ties have been around since his mission (and before)! So Jeffrey told us he gets his ties at TJ Max. So we thought we'd check over there. We got Kevin three new ties yesterday - starting with the green one and working your way to the right. The one on the left is one we got a JCPenny about 2-3 weeks ago.

My "big" purchase yesterday were new shoelaces for my brown Doc boots. I bought these boots back in 1997! LOVE THEM! I haven't worn them lately cause the needed new laces. Well i found some yesterday. WOO HOO! Now i just need to polish them. LOL.

updates

Seeing how i haven't posted in like 2 weeks, i thought i would do some updates.

1. the bathroom wall has been repaired! WOO HOO!!! One night we could smell cigarette smoke in the house. we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Apparently since it was too cold to stand outside and smoke our downstairs neighbor decided to sit in his bathroom with the fan on and smoke. Well it came right into our place. WE WERE PISSED!!!! We immediately left a phone message for the apartment office. This is a brand new building and it's SMOKE FREE. So i think we might have gotten him in a little bit of trouble. LOL. But boy did they fix the hole fast. To prevent future smoke coming up Kevin cover the hole with suran wrap and taped it closed. It worked great!

2. We had gotten quite a bit of snow over the past little while. Not as much as some other friends have gotten. But thankfully a lot of ours is GONE! Don't get me wrong. I love snow! But driving in it isn't always fun. People park like CRAP when it snows cause you can't see the parking lines. I HATE the ice it creates during the melting/re-freezing it does everyday. I am SO hungry for SPRING! The last fews days have been so nice! We have been hitting into the low 40s. WOO HOO! Kevin wishes the snow would stay. I'm sure we'll get more snow, it's only February.

3. We are still house hunting/deciding. We just want to make sure the area/neighborhood/ house are what we want. We plan on staying a while here.

4. I have a Doctors appt in Boise on March 7th to meet with a Fertility specialist/Dr. I met with an OB/GYN here at the end of January and she suggested with my past history and problems that we just start over there. So here's to hoping we can start our family soon!!! We are only going on 8yrs of Marriage this Summer! I feel like we get looks sometimes like, why don't you have kids? Don't you want kids?! It used to bug me SO BAD. I don't mind talking about it and stuff. Just don't accuse us of not wanting a family! oh, sorry about that. lol. just starting venting. lol.

5. PLEASE Check out Colonel Sanders Blog. The Colonel has been trying to keep things updated. He even has a contest on it right now.

we're leaking!

One of our shower pipes has been leaking into the apartment below us. So yesterday the maintenance guy came and cut two holes in our wall. Yup there is a leak! Hopefully they will fix it today.

Secret Shame

I was intrigued by the sight of this article. NKOTB! I must admit, back in the day, i was a fan. I think my sister Natalie may still have their Christmas tape. If so...I wouldn't mind a copy to bug the heck out of Kevin. :) LOL.

Call me...Mater

So Sunday we drove Kevin's car to church. I noticed he needed gas. I said "lets just get it now so you don't have to worry about it tomorrow." He said "no, i have plenty to get to & from work tomorrow. I'll just get it on the way home." "Fine" I said.

Well i called Kevin to see where he was so i can send him to the store to get some eggs for dinner. i say "so where are you?" He said "i'm on the side of the freeway." "Haha, no really where are you?" He replied "i ran out of gas about a mile from the off ramp. I need you to come tow me." So i had to drive out to Jerome, turn around and get right back on the freeway so i can get over to him to tow him to the gas station.

Whenever i see anyone on the side of the freeway, i always try to get into another lane farther from them to give them space. Well apparently alot of people don't think that way! People were FLYING by us at like 80 mph! Scared the crap out of me! well there was a huge break in traffic so off we went. going 40 mph. It was kind of funny looking back on it. I was kind of irritated when i first learned of his situation. He has done this in the past, this running out of gas cause "i can make it". Silly Kevin. he should have listened to his wife. :)

Trip to Rexburg

We made a trip to Rexburg the weekend of the 12th. We attended the Open House of the Rexburg Temple. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!! We moved to Rexburg Nov 2005. The Temple with still pretty much a hole in the ground with a bit of cement sticking up. I wish i could find the pictures to show you. We spent the weekend with our friends the Larsen's. I was SO GOOD to see them after 2 months since moving away. Seems like much longer!!

This is a picture i took before we moved. I think sometime in September.

This is what some of the stain glass windows look like in the temple. They use the "wheat" throughout the temple it was awesome!!!

I imagined the day we went to the open house with clear blue sky, fluffy clouds, cold crisp air. What i got was a day SO Foggy that you couldn't see the temple till you were right up to it. I wouldn't have changed it for anything. It's absolutely GORGEOUS!! So sad it's not ours but it made me all the more excited for the Twin Falls Temple that will open sometimes this Spring/Summer.

Birthday Celebration

This weekend we celebrated our nephew Karter's 2nd Birthday! He LOVED his cake. He kept sticking his face in the cake trying to eat/lick it. We kept it to the corner of the cake. LOL.

This is little brother Karson.

Karter got this sweet little table and chair for all his coloring and drawing he LOVES to do. Here is Kevin & Karter enjoying his new gift.

Jeff was telling us how to play Bunco.

Snow Snow and more Snow

I left for work yesterday morning and we had NO snow on the ground, anywhere! It starts to try to snow when i am driving to work. Well apparently after i got there. It kept coming and coming and coming! It snowed ALL DAY!!! We have probably a good 5 inches of snow outside!!! WOO HOO!!! We have chances of snow through Friday! Very interested to see how much we will get in the end. This area REALLY needs to the snow in our mountains. We are in a huge drought. I'll try to get some pictures. I realize my blog has turned into just a lot of words.

It's Wednesday...the weekend is in sight!

Sunday...a day of rest...

...and i am up early because of a headache that wouldn't let me sleep.

Yesterday was quite busy. We worked out in the gym in the morning, ate breakfast, and got ready for the day. We went and bought a new muffler for the car so i wouldn't sound ghetto anymore. (More on the muffler later). We then went to our storage unit and moved our stuff from our HUGE unit to a much smaller unit. Now we can save some $$. We (just the two of us) did it all in just over 1.5 hours and all with our little Honda Accord! Kevin walked a few things over cause they just won't fit in a Honda. I am quite proud how quickly we got it done. There were two reason's for that: 1) we both didn't want to be there all day doing it. 2) we were very afraid that a huge storm was coming our way. Lots of wind and black clouds. Apparently the wind blew it away cause it never did rain. I said a little prayer "please let us get this moved before it rains." And then once we closed and locked the door I said another prayer of thanks and said "let it rain all you want Heavenly Father." Well it never did rain.

We then ran to Subway for lunch. Kevin had enough "subway points" to get a free large sandwich. So we just got the sandwiches to go and we went home to where we have our own drinks and chips. Nice cheap lunch! WOO HOO! Then it was off to Jerome to check the PO Box and go to Super Walmart. Where we decided after looking at a few food items, we would just make an extra stop and go to Winco for the food. Its a bit cheaper there. Though we always walk out with "extra" purchases. LOL. Then we were finally home for the evening at about 6pm. I bet i fell asleep somewhere around 9-9:30pm.

May i make a suggestion. NEVER go work out in the morning if you are going to move all your crap from one storage unit to another. I packed a few boxes a bit too heavy. LOL. Of course they are FILLED with books. LOL. Kevin said "we are never moving again!" I said "well at least once more when we buy our house this summer." he said "After that we are never moving again." I said "that's fine. And if we do move again then we will have a huge yard sale!"

New Years Day we did go to UT for the day. It only took us about 3.5 hours to get to Midvale/Sandy area. We went to help Kevin's brother Lynn & his family move. But by the time we got there at 10:30 we missed everything but the last load or two us stuff. They had great help from their ward. So we cleaned the old place went and saw the new place. Ate some lunch. And then we left to go home.

Now for the rest of the muffler story. We have been needing a new muffler for awhile now. We just use the muffler tape to fix the little holes and what not. But lately that tape just wasn't helping. We were hoping to wait till February to make the purchase. Well as Jeff & Kevin were helping with Lynn's move they had to pull into a small snow bank to get off the road. I think that's what finally killed the muffler. We were driving to lunch and went to pick up our niece from the babysitters and i heard this noise. I asked Kevin what we had in the trunk and he said nothing other then some blankets. Well we stop and look. THE MUFFLER FELL OFF AND WAS DRAGGING!! So we just pulled it the rest of the way off. It was a loud 3.5 hour drive home! So we made the purchase yesterday for a new one. We weren't going to drive to Rexburg next weekend with no muffler!

Before leaving UT we did get a chance to see our GREAT FRIENDS Chris & Sarah & their kids. It was for about an hour or so. We try to see them every time we go to UT. I think it's worked out every time as well. We would love to spend a full weekend with them. We miss them so much!!! I can not believe how grown up their kids are! We knew them pre-kids and were there for the birth of 2 of them. Not like at the hospital but living at the same apartment complex. Now they have a third and according to Sarah are done. She got her girl on the last one and she is Sarah's little mini-me. LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

Work has been a bit crazy. Holiday's always make it more hectic. I had a bad afternoon at work on Thursday. I was on the phones and was getting overwhelmed and at about 4pm one called just did me in. I just took off my headset and walked away. My trainer had to finish the phone call! They sent for Lori to come find me in the bathroom. Not my best day. Things were better on Friday. I just have to give myself some slack. Here's to hoping for a better week. LOL.

update: Crap! Kevin reminded me. Church starts at 1:30. UGH!! I hate late church!

Welcome 2008

Just wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all had a safe celebration and are getting the much needed rest after staying up so late. I unfortunately got 4 hours of sleep and we are now hitting the road to UT (for the day). We will drive safe. Talk to you real soon.

update

Work is good. I am for sure going to be a full time scheduler. Which is GREAT for the "regular" hours (Mon-Fri 8-5). The thing I won't like is not being able to get up for a second and walk around. The phones ring non-stop! I think they are going to want me "on my own" next week, which scares the crap out of me. I'm sure I'll be fine. People will just have to sit on hold for a minute (or 10) till i figure out what the heck is going on. LOL.

We had a great Christmas. On Christmas Eve we went to Jeff & Barbara's for Pizza, games, and family time. It was nice because Jeff didn't get off work till five, so by the time they would have gotten out there it would have easily been 6:30. We stayed MUCH longer then i thought we would. We left probably about 12:15AM. Kevin & I then had to go to our place, grab all our stuff and then drive out to Doug & Linda's, which is about 40 mins away. So we got there at about 1:30-ish. We were totally exhausted. I atleast slept the entire way out to Kevin's parent's house.

Christmas morning. We opened stockings and then ate breakfast and then opened gifts. I was SO excited because i got Kevin this game "Pirateer" which our good friend's the Mazuran's had in CA that we played all the time and he LOVED it. So that is one of the first things i had Kevin open. Well he was excited and then started laughing! So he gets up and hands me a gift to open. WE GOT EACH OTHER THE SAME GAME!! What are the odds of that? We haven't talked about getting the game or anything. It was a totally "spur of the moment" thing for both of us. we also got each other another game called "Ticket to Ride". So now we have two games we will "re-gift" at some point. lol.

Kevin also got me Singstar & Dance Dance Revolution! I am WAY excited. Lynn & Shauna (Kevin's brother & his wife) introduced us to it. When ever they come up from UT they always bring Singstar. Now we have it. WOO HOO!!!!

I made Kevin a scarf for Christmas. My friend Courtney showed me how when i was stilling living in Rexburg. I'll have to take a picture of it. It turned out great!

Well i really need to get ready for work.

TGIF!!!! Working for the weekend! :)

finally!

I finally have gotten some pictures of my sister Carolyn's kids! I don't think I've seen pictures of them since April! These look like they were taken in "the Fall". But they were taken yesterday! Gotta love CA weather.

flu shot = get sick

I usually never get sick and i never get the flu shot. But it was highly recommended since i now working in "the medical field" with tons of sick people. Well i got the shot and now i am sick! I'm not getting it next year no matter how much they "recommended" it. I know the flu shot doesn't actually make you sick, but i wonder if it weakens your immune system some how. I hate being sick and especially at Christmas. I kept Kevin from falling back to sleep last night because i was snoring. :(

Long time no post...

Kevin's mom did the 12 Days of Christmas for all of us for the second Christmas. She gets all these bags and such ready and then gives them to us and each day we get to open a little inexpensive something. It's quite fun. These were part of our gift yesterday.

Cute huh?! They are little tiles that are about 3x3-ish with vinyl lettering on them. I love them!

Things are good here. Just been busy getting back into the rhythm of working full time again. 5 weeks off really gets you out of whack! LOL. The one thing i miss about not working is being able to go to the gym in the morning. I haven't been going the last 2 weeks and i can TOTALLY FEEL A DIFFERENCE! I need to get it worked back into my routine! I need to get in shape.

I am loving my new job! It's ALOT to learn and quite confusing and times, but it's good. The Ladies i work with are great. I am training to be a scheduler in the back with the nurses and so I've been just listening for about 3-4 days to how answer the calls, book appointments and such. Well Friday i was actually put on the phones with Ellen there listening into the conversation. I have NO IDEA how to help these people! By the time i left for lunch my head was spinning! So i happen to see Lori and she was the one training me in the front area and she asked how it was going. I said it's crazy! Then i looked at her with a straight face and said "where do i turn in my resignation?" Lori just looked at me like "what?! You can't leave!" Then i just started laughing and told her i was just kidding. I don't think she found it that funny. LOL.

I can't believe it's Christmas in 2 days! WOW! Seems like it takes forever getting here and then goes by so quickly! Kevin is actually DONE with my shopping BEFORE Christmas Eve! GOOD JOB LOVE!

i was worried we weren't going to have a White Christmas. We haven't had snow in a while. We got maybe an inch or so last night. Looks like we might get a little more. But i just don't know if it will stick around for Tuesday. Lets all pray we get more snow!! Being up here in Idaho it just doesn't feel like Christmas without snow.

In CA Kevin & I started a little tradition of going to the Beach on Christmas morning and playing some wiffle ball! I do miss those times. We need to get back to CA and visit. I am hoping next year!

Thank you ALL for those that have sent Christmas Cards & E-mail Christmas Cards! I love them! I hope to get on the bandwagon and at least get out an Email Christmas Card before Tuesday. Wish me luck. LOL.

Gingerbread...House House House

Kevin and i thought it would be fun this year to build a gingerbread house. I don't recall ever making one, so this would be my FIRST! Kevin's parents bought this kit for us at Costco yesterday. Here are some pictures!

working girl...

...but not on the streets, you know what i mean. LOL. There are two of us that are new and being trained for the same office. So Monday was training at a different building. We were so overwhelmed with information. By 3pm i think Becky and I had this glazed look because it didn't seem like much sank in after that. Tuesday we were at our office and just "shadowed" this lady Lori. She is so nice & so knowledgeable! She explained where things were and who people are and such. We watched her check in people for their appointments all day, helping where we could. It was another day filled with LOTS of information. Today we had a 7am meeting! I don't mind the early-ness of it, it's just that it ended up being only a 15 minute meeting. SO NOT WORTH HAVING!! But oh well. We got to leave early today since we were in early. WOO HOO! :) This morning we watched Lori do more check-in's and then it was our turn. So she asked us who wanted to go first and Becky keeps saying how she is such a hands on person so i figured she would go first, but no. Becky practically pushed me in to the chair. Sure i was nervous but I'm going to have to do it sooner or later, more sooner then later, so might as well get going on it. Becky doesn't give herself enough credit. She ALWAYS talks about how scared she is, how nervous, and how she doesn't want to screw up. Well i think the same things, but i just THINK them and she SAYS them. I think it makes a difference in the way they see us. But i really like it and i think it's going to be really good. YEAH!!!

Sorry, no more pictures to post. I haven't taken the time to mess with them yet. So hopefully by the weekend I'll have them up.

Sunday Outing

There is a little waterfall kind of by our place here in Twin. A few weeks ago when we were on a walk we saw TONS of HUGE icicles by it. We meant to take pictures but we never got around to it. Well today after Church we decided we go over to it and see if they were still there. We took our camera this time. Well, the HUGE icicles from before were gone but we did take a few pictures. Here are two for now and then I'll put some other ones up tomorrow...AFTER I GO TO WORK!!!! WOO HOO! I'll let you know how that goes too.

Here is Kevin by the waterfall. I took another one when we got down closer to it, but i liked this one a bit better. :)

Here I am in front of the Bridge (over the Snake River) we have to cross to get into Twin from the Highway. People bungee jump and base jump off it too. Um...no thanks!
People have died doing that.

Saturday Night Babysitting

So last night we watched our nephew Karter so Jeff & Barbara could go to Jeff's work Christmas Party (they took baby Karson with them). Here are just a few photos from our time babysitting.

Karter snuggling with Kevin. Karter is getting 4 teeth right now so while i was making dinner he just started crying "for no reason". So i tried to console him, but he wanted Kevin. So i sat him with Kevin and he immediately stopped crying and then about 3-5 mins later he was asleep! This is about 6pm, so not good to be sleeping right now. So we let him sleep for a bit and then woke him up. Karter loves Kevin. They were roommates for about 2.5 months while Kevin started his new job before i moved down.

Kevin & Karter doing some coloring. Well Karter is coloring and Kevin is helping him with the markers (taking off the lids). I don't know where our crayons are so THANK GOODNESS for washable markers! He LOVED the markers. By the end of their coloring he was able to get some of the lids off and put them back on. I hope we just didn't teach him a bad thing. LOL.

Kevin spared

Kevin is lucky! He decided he wanted the other night to do the exercises that go along with my exercise ball. So i told him they don't seem to difficult when you are doing them, but you will feel it the next day. IT WAS SO FUNNY! He has having a hard time keeping his balance, etc. I took a few pictures and he said "THOSE ARE NOT GOING ON YOUR BLOG!" I said "OH YES THEY ARE!" Well, he lucked out. They weren't very good pictures so to deleted them and not post them. Maybe another time. :)

2 jobs in 1 day

So i had my first day on the job at CSI on Monday. I got there at 9am and had an enjoyable 3.5 hours of going through a HUGE mound of purged paper from my new desk to see what needed to be shredded and what could just to be recycled. joy of joys. Then the other 30 mins of my part-time day was spent filling out some papers and taking them over to HR.

Monday late afternoon at 4:30pm i got another phone call. Here is how our conversation went...

"Hi this is Jessica at the hospital"
"Oh, hello" (totally shocked but trying to hide it)
"I am calling to let you know that we would like to extend an offer to you for the position at receptionist"
"Oh great."
Then she goes on to tell me about pay, benefits, etc.
"Well thank you so much, can i talk to my husband tonight and give you a call in the morning?"
"Sure, here is my number"
"Great thanks."
We hang up.

(me out loud) "OH MY GOSH I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN!" So i immediately called Kevin and told him. He said we'd talk about it when he got home.

Well after much thought and talking i accepted the position! So Tuesday morning i had to go pick up some paperwork and then go do some drug screening/background testing. Luckily i wasn't going to CSI until 10am. I had called Rose from CSI at 8:30am Tuesday and left her a message and she never called me back. So i called again at about 9:40am. I luckily got a hold of her (she was heading out to a meeting) and told her the situation. She understood but was sad to loose me already. So i worked a whole 2 days for CSI. LOL.

This morning (Friday) I went and did my final paperwork at the Hospital, got a few shots, my new ID badge (my picture is bad. yuck. lol.) and was on my way. I start first thing Monday morning.
I am WAY excited!

Christmas Shopping

I am almost done with Kevin's shopping. One last thing to get and I'll probably do that today. THEN I'M DONE! We pick names in each of our families of who to purchase for for Christmas. We had Jeff & Barbara on the Brown side. DONE with them! Then on my side of the family we have my Parents. Just waiting for dads gift to get here and then I'll mail that off to them as well.

I LOVE BEING DONE EARLY!!!!

HOW ARE YOU GUYS DOING???

Job Update

I have accepted a job at CSI! It is only part-time which sucks, but it's something so i can start bringing in some money and it's a foot in the door to the College. Though i am still waiting to hear back from the hospital. I left a message for the lady i interviewed with late yesterday afternoon asking where they are in the process of hiring. So hopefully i will hear from her soon! I am not sure when i will start at CSI. They are supposed to call me back probably today. So my guess is that i would start Monday.

Open House

I've got my tickets to the Rexburg Temple Open House. DO YOU HAVE YOURS?!?! I am so excited! Saw this article. I figured the open house would draw a big crowd.

good morning....

...SNOW!!!!!

I was just thinking yesterday that it really didn't seem like it should be Christmas time because there was no snow. I know this part of the state won't get a much as Rexburg did, but come on, give me something. Well i got some. It's PERFECT packing snow to make a snowman. So maybe after i get done with the gym i'll make me a little snowman.

another monday

Well it's another Monday...of another week. Thanksgiving was great. It was so nice to have Kevin home for Thursday & Friday. We went to Kevin's parents for Thanksgiving. Most of the family was there. We were missing Lynn, Shauna, & Charlee. They spent the holiday with her family. Seems like i spent most of the day in the kitchen. We played a few games in the evening and then we all went home. I did get ONE picture from Thanksgiving and it's of Kevin holding Karson. Kevin had yet to hold Karson; he says he is still to wobbly. But Jeff just handed Karson off so he could help Barbara with Karter. See how HAPPY Kevin looks to be "holding him"? It lasted about 2 mins. LOL. Plus he wasn't thrilled that i was taking a picture. LOL.

Friday we took down our FEW Thanksgiving decorations and put up our Christmas stuff. We can't wait to get a tree!
Here is our fireplace w/ our stockings.

This is my "Go-tee" Joseph. I made this years ago at a R.S. activity back in Redlands before i was married.

This is an ornament that my parents got us for Christmas this year. Kevin LOVES it and can't wait to put it on our tree. Right now it's sitting on top of the TV. LOL.

my NEW 6

OK, so it's time for my NEW 6 things about me.

1. I love musicals, chick-flics and comedy movies. Sometimes i can do a little suspense. But NEVER EVER would you find me watching a scary/horror film!!!

2. When it rains i HATE the rain drops just sitting on the windshield! I constantly wipe the windows. Even if Kevin is driving i will lean over and make the window wipers go! I LOVE RAIN, just not the drops just sitting on my window! LOL.

3. I LOVE playing Tetris on Kevin's PS2! I can play it for hours! I'm pretty dang good too!

4. Growing up i ALWAYS wanted to be a photographer for National Geographic Magazine. But then i realized i am MUCH too picky of an eater to be able to have a job like that and go to some of those remote spots.

5. I also wanted to be a teacher, because they got to use the BIG paper cutter machine. I was very much a "teachers pet" in Elementary school and some classes in Jr High (man what changed in HS?).

6. I love the smell of floor cleaner!

Achmed

Kevin showed me this HILARIOUS video. Thought I'd share. Makes us crack up!

Job update

Yesterday i had an interview with the Hospital here in Twin for a job. It would be in one of the pediatric doctors offices doing receptionist stuff. Scheduling, taking co-pays, etc...

Today i got a call from CSI wanting me to come interview next Tuesday for a position there. If i am, thinking of the one it probably is (administrative), it's only a part-time gig. So i would hope the Hospital job would work out.

Things are looking better. But i still have to make it happen. Wish me luck!

p.s. WE ARE GETTING SOME SNOW FLURRIES RIGHT NOW!!!

Weekend Update

Kevin's been talking about going to the Men's Basketball games at CSI since we knew we would be moving to Twin. He loved to come to Twin growing up and go to the games with his buddies. So Saturday we finally went. I am NOT much of a basketball fan at all, which Kevin is trying to change. So apparently there was some sort of Tournament happening and the team CSI played Saturday night...RCC, that's right...Riverside Community College! I was excited having a team from So. Cal. up here. Well CSI's men's team is ranked something like #2 in the nation for Junior College basketball. So they gave RCC a little "beating". There was one point where a CSI guy just ATTACKED an RCC player. So i cheered in defense for RCC the rest of the game. Kevin & I were laughing because some of my cheering and clapping got us looks from the CSI fans we were sitting around. Kevin joked that we would have to run to the car after the game so we wouldn't get beat up. Well RCC lost and i was glad to see that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. CSI started putting in the scrubs towards the end. RCC never put their "token white guy" in to play the entire game. I felt bad for him. All in all it was fun and I'd go again.

Sunday we went to our new ward for the first time. It was actually bigger then i expected it to be, but NOTHING like our ward in Rexburg, thank goodness, that was WAY TOO big! But i don't like the set up of the schedule. R.S., then Sunday school, and then Sacrament meeting. It's VERY hard to concentrate in Sacrament meeting because your attention span has already been spent on the 2 hours previous. Especially for the kids, it's gotta be hard going into that meeting after Primary! This is going to take some getting used to.

I had to introduce myself in R.S. and they all laughed when i said where we moved into. Apparently the apartment complex we live in is notorious in having people move into it and attend the ward for only a short amount of time till they find a house to purchase (Jeffrey told me this after church was over). Which is EXACTLY what we are doing! And then when we went to the clerks office to get our records into this ward, i heard him mention to an older lady in the office as well, that probably a third of the ward lives in our apartments. I hope to meet some of them and make some friends.

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving on Thursday. I can't believe it's already that time of year. Should be fun. I'm glad that we don't have to make such a long drive now. That's a bonus of living closer! I have to make my friend Sarah's FAMOUS rolls for dinner. Which the family just loves. Oh the pressure!

Guess that's it for now. Happy Monday!

Twin Falls Temple

Yesterday after i dropped off a resume for a job i decided that i would go see the progress on the Twin Falls Temple. It does look a bit like the Rexburg one, but unfortunately it looks like it's going to be COMPLETELY SURROUNDED BY HOUSES!!!! That is so sad!

*This is a look at the stone they are using in the landscaping. love it.

Turkey Turkey

This is one of my favorite Thanksgiving decorations. My sister, Natalie, made the feathers and head for us probably for our first or second married Thanksgiving. I got this pumpkin yesterday at Walmart for 25 cents! Excellent purchase. Thanks Natalie!

So long first home

So here is a picture of us in front of our townhome in Rexburg. I am trying to remember, i think i took this after we packed up the Uhaul and were about to take off for Twin to drop off our stuff. I were SO SAD to leave our first home, but i know we will find another one that we will loved too. Gotta love timers on camera's. As you can tell i didn't level the camera perfectly, but i was rushed. So this will have to do.

testing...

ok, i haven't been able to post a picture since i've been using our Mac at home. So this is going to be a trial to see if i can get one on.

Update: Ok, i guess it worked. This is a picture of Kevin and I back in October 2005. We took Ostler Family photos before we moved to Idaho.

Tuesday's blabberings

So you'd think that since i am home all day i'd find more time to blog. But this is usually how my days go. These are all approximate times.

7:10am - get Kevin out of bed to get ready for work.
7:20am - getting myself out of bed to go to the gym.
7:30am - walk Kevin out to his car and then i go to the gym.
8:30-9am - get back home from working out.
9:20am - eat breakfast/watch the rest of the Today Show/clean kitchen/apartment
11am-1pm - do some job searching/check blogs/emails
1-2pm - eat lunch/watch "Days of Our Lives" (i know waste of time)
2-5pm - do more job searching
5-10pm - make dinner, eat, clean up and hang out with Kevin.
Start all over again the next day.

Plus not working doesn't seem to give me lots to talk about. Though i guess i didn't always talk about work. But it seems like i lead a "lack luster life" right now. Which in some ways is really nice.

My sister Natalie has started a blog. So check out hers for updates. Pederson Family on my links of blogs.

It's rather chilly tody compared to last week. We are currently 41 degees but according to weatherchannel.com it FEELS like 31! buuuurrrrrrrrr!!!!

well i guess that's about it for now. Gotta eat my lunch.

wow. sorry.

I've been thinking. My last post of "my 6"...it was really depressing. I guess i was just having "one of those days". I will need to re-do "my 6" when i'm in a better mood. sorry about that everyone.

Yesterday i went to a bridal shower for Kevin's cousin who is getting married at the end of the month. It was a good thing we went, there didn't seem to be too many people. Apparently though she seemed to have already had one and this was like a "family" one. I went with my MIL and Barbara, my SIL. We played some fun games and i'm usually not big on games at those kind of things.

I went to the storage unit this morning to get my "crafty" stuff out so i can work on a few things in my "down time". It's hard not working. I don't have any kids to keep my completly busy during the day so i find things to do. I applied for 2 jobs at the Twin Falls hospital. It would be nice to get one of those because Kevin says we should get some good insurance through them. LOL. I think i should hear something next week, hopefully. i should become a nurses assitant or nurse. There are TONS of job openings for them!

Well i guess i should go and get some things done.

My 6

OK, Heather always seems to want to know things about me. So here you go...

1. I am completely obsessed with checking blogs. Checking mine for comments and checking others for new posts/pictures. I bet i check them about 5+ times a day. no joke.

2. I have THE worst self-esteem. I talk "big" but deep down i feel horrible about myself. Which has got to drive Kevin just completely NUTS! I try to be good, but i think this is going to be a life long issue. See just thinking about it makes me tear up. ugh!

3. I can never make as many cookies as the recipe says it should make. I just made a double batch of Snikerdoodles and it says that i should have made 72 cookies (36 in each batch). I bet i made 48. I didn't even eat that much cookie dough either!

4. I ALWAYS have to have some sort of dessert. Popcorn, ice cream, fruit, or whatever.

5. I miss California more then i thought i would. I was so glad to get out. Sometimes i wish we never left. I miss alot of people down there. But it is nice to be near Kevin's family. I know he is totally enjoying it.

6. One of the only places i felt like "myself" was on the volleyball court. I love the sport and i want to play again badly. That was something i was really good at and not everyone could do. Made me feel really good about myself.

** I did not write #2 for any sort of sympathy. Just being honest and said what i was feeling/thinking.

**oops. i forgot to tag people. So here it goes: T. Jack, C. Sauser, N. Price, K. Fowler.

I'm Alive!

Wow, its been forever since i last posted. My apologizes. It's been a bit crazy (to say the least)!

We are now in Twin Falls. We are in our apartment. We are LOVING being together again. I'm sure Jeff & Barbara are excited to have their house back. Though Jeff said they will be sad to not have their dishes done for them now. LOL. Kevin is BIG on keeping things cleaned up and they don't have a dish washer, so it's all done by hand. I don't blame them for not wanting to do them all the time. I know i'd hate it.

So i am on the job search. I am hoping to find something soon. I might just take "any job" right now that will hold me over till i can find "the job". So wish me luck.

Well i am at the library so i don't have much time. I hope to be able to check out everyone's blogs soon. I'm going through withdrawals of not having the internet. ugh. I didn't have alot of time to even look at anyone's blogs my last two weeks because i was training, though i tried when i could. But that's OK. We will hopefully be getting internet REAL SOON at our house. WOO HOO!!!!!!

better run. i'll try to update soon.
