Fun with Uncle Kevin

We had the opportunity to watch our nephews today and it was super fun. Kevin is always so great with the boys. He took them to an elementary school near by and they had a lot of fun. i met them over there after i got showered. I am SO glad i took the camera. I love these boys!

Twenty-One!!

so today seems to be loaded with odd jobs that don't normally get done. We are cleaning the oven (self clean), cleaning & organizing the pantry, pulled massive weeds (not all in our yard - some was service) and just going thru some items that we don't need. Like old cell phones we've kept as we've "upgraded" phones. Kevin is mailing them in for recycling. I'm going thru our cookbooks. Apparently without realizing it...we had TWENTY-ONE cookbooks!! We are now down to ELEVEN. Not too shabby. Makes the shelf look better.

Happy Spring? Cleaning everyone!

could this be what i need??

I know there is "natural" stuff i could be doing to help with fertility problems (PCOS). I just ran across this book. Could it be what i need?! But we are talking $40+ here. But i guess that is better then the THOUSANDS we paid to just have another miscarriage. Plus it will probably help with weight issues.

Maybe for Christmas I can get it as a gift.

The lady there was VERY excited to see me...well not ME per se...but my O negative blood type. We were chatting a bit and i said my mom & i would get called ALOT to donate. She said...you'll get called alot now too. We are in NEED of your blood type.

So to those that can....Donate blood. Its an easy gift to be given.

55 cents

So they built a Valley Country Store near my work. We frequent it every so often. But the week Kevin was gone in PA it was a daily stop for me. Wasn't till Friday when i saw they had 44oz plastic cups for soda for only 99 cents. DANG! Why didn't i see that on Monday?!? Well i kept the cup to do "refills" with. Come to find out when they have this special cups for sale....the refills are only 55 CENTS!!! Other times it's like 70-90 cents--i can't remember. But you can't beat 55 cent refills for 44 oz of soda. Granted as previously posted about...i am trying to get OFF soda...but i'm sorry there are days where you just need some. And for those days...i'm glad for the 55 cent refills!

Rockin'

So these are almost a month old. But i thought I'd get them up here anyway. When my sister Natalie & her boys came out the boys were scared and didn't want to see Uncle Kevin (which we don't understand they've met him only 3 times) but he won them over big time!

Here are pics of "The Boys" rocking out.

notice Sam's tongue sticking out?!
He was ALWAYS way into Rockin'!!

Dallin super happy drumming

ZUMBA

My good friend Cat is really into this new fitness called...Zumba Fitness! It looks like a total blast! And a great workout! I haven't been able to locate a class near me...till today! They do it at the YMCA in Twin Falls!!! WOO HOO! I'm so excited. I am going to call and ask about it today.

Check out ZUMBA.

** So i called the YMCA about the class - You can buy a day pass for $5 or you can buy a month pass for $35. It starts in September. I might have to try it out. We'll see once i talk to Kevin. It will probably be shot down for financial reasons. Which i totally understand. Damn Bills.

not much....

....is happening here. Kevin is currently in PA on a business trip with a sick (sinus -infection we think) co-worker. Poor Layne. Hope Kevin doesn't catch anything!

I have been working alot of hours these past two days. I'm actually just taking a break before getting back into it tonight. Which i should really do...or i'm going to get too tired.

Last week i came down with Strep Throat....so that was enjoyable. So i missed 4 days last week. There is alot to make up.

so long...farwell...

We had the oppurtunity to purchase my moms 1999 Honda Accord from her while my parents were up in Idaho in July. We therefore had 3 cars.

Well not anymore!

Kevin got a call around 1:30pm today requesting to take a look at our 1987 Honda for sale. So Kevin went home, they took it for a test drive, and THEY BOUGHT IT!!! We are so glad that car hung on for as long as it did. We kept saying "please make it one more year!" Well it lasted us 9yrs of marriage and i had it for a year or so before that. Plus my mom bought it brand new in 1986-87, so my family has put on every single mile on that car...until today when we saw it drive away. So sad.

(not our car, but looks exactly like it.)

THANKS FOR BEING A GREAT CAR QTR MIL!

A deal...

....with myself!

I have come to realize that i spend ALOT of time on the computer outside of work stuff. I may not post all the time on my blog...but i do check out other people's blogs. And i am on Facebook WAY more then i need to be. You seriously loose track of time when you are on there.

SO.....

I've made a deal with myself to get me off the computer and into the gym!

* For every 30 mins of workout i do = 10 minutes on the computer.

* For every day i go without a soda (of any type-diet-caffeine free, etc...) = 10 mins on the computer.

I am hoping this will help my reach my goal of loosing weight and getting healthy.

Rockin' Out

So i remembered at the last moment that my phone will do little video's (not the best quality). Here is Kevin rockin' with Natalie's boys. Sam on Guitar and Dallin on Drums. We had them switched early in the day, but forgot about the video capability on my phone. But enjoy! Sam is SO Steve (his dad-click on his name to see his video). All videos are roughly a minute long.

Jeff's Tricycle Adventure

So sometimes Kevin's brother Jeff swings by with his two boys when they are in town. Often it is because we are requiring his assistance with our cars. {Gotta love family that are mechanics.} ;) hee hee. Well, when they come over, they bring bikes/cars for the boys to play with. Karter (3yrs old) figured out that he could ride down the driveway of the house next to us--down the sidewalk-- and partially up our driveway. He LOVED doing this!! He thought Dad should have a turn. So Jeff rides the trike up to the other house (bare in mind...Jeff is 6'6") and Karter wanted him off so he could enjoy the ride down and not do the work to get the bike over there. Jeff said "Heck no!" and took it for a ride down the driveway.

Here are pics of his Adventure...

HAHAHA!!
It was awesome.
I think he should have had shoes on so those little rocks didn't hurt his feet.

"it was THIS big!"

You've all heard the fish stories...

I caught a fish "THIS big" and they hold their arms out as far as it goes...

Well...

We found a surprise in our garden today. I don't know where it was hiding from us, but we grew a zucchini "THIS big"....

No really we did...

(From my wrist to my shoulder. Pretty crazy!)

sounds of home...

...with my parents clock. This clock hung in my parents house the whole time i lived there (& probably before). After i got married they did some "upgrading" to the living room and i don't think the clock ever made it back onto the wall. I LOVE this clock. This clock to me sounds like home. When my parents came up last week they brought with them the clock for me (and a few more items). I was so excited!

Thankfully Kevin likes the ticking sound of the clock.

Miche Handbags

I was invited to a Miche Handbag party last night at a friends house. I had never heard of them before i got this invite. Jenni showed me hers at church this past Sunday. SO COOL!! It's the bag for women who LOVE purses and buy new ones all the time. They are kind of spendy, i think, but when you think about all the money & storage you need for a multitude of bags, it's worth it!

How it works is you buy a classic Black or Brown bag and then you just buy "shells" for it. So it's the same bag but the outside looks different. No having to switch your stuff from bag to bag. There are strong magnets that hold the shell on. The ladies that had them said they've never had a problem with the shells falling off.

HERE is the official site.

But you can find them on EBAY too.

** I was late to the party because i was meeting with the Bishop so i didn't get to hear the "schpeal" the lady gave. But the pictures don't do the bags justice. They are really adorable!! **

Last Boise Appointment...

This Friday we are heading to Boise for TWO reasons. Well, the first initial reason we were heading that way is for a Family Reunion for Kevin's mom's side of the family. I'm up for a little camping. We'll see how it goes. This is my first family reunion with his family...so we'll see if we go to more. hee hee. just kidding. i'm sure we'll go. ;)

But it turns out to be a great thing we were already heading that way cause I'll have my LAST appointment in Boise for the year with Dr. Slater. I chatted with the doc yesterday, as we had a 2week follow up phone call planned, after the news of our non-viable pregnancy. So she was pleased with how i told her the miscarriage is going cause hopefully that means no D&C. But she wants to do an u/s to make sure there is nothing left in there (just incase) and some bloodwork. So it just so happened we were going to be out that way anyway on Friday...so it worked out prefectly! We will also do the other bloodwork that she wants us to do to see if there are other problems causing our miscarriages. So hopefully we'll have some answers in the coming weeks.

mother nature

Mother Nature is finally taking it's course with this miscarriage. I have been waiting for it to happen since a week ago Friday, so i wouldn't have to have a D&C. But it couldn't have come on a worse weekend. We were supposed to attend our friends baby sealing at the Twin Falls Temple Saturday morning. I was fighting it (the pain) and really wanted to go. So we got ready and got on the freeway. But we had to turn around, i just couldn't do it. I AM SO SORRY Jeff & Jen. We wanted to be there so bad. We are so excited for you guys! Congrats!

Now, mother nature hurry & be done so i can get on with things.

nothing like starting all over again...

(Boot-Camp)
Oh how i LOVE & LOATH you!

Monday morning i went for my first class in about 2 months. I thought i was going to DIE! We started out by just jogging a mile around the track. I didn't think i could do it...but i did!!! Then we did all sorts of lunges, squats, push ups. Tuesday morning was a JOKE! I couldn't sit down to go potty for 2 days! I could barely walk "normal" - as much as a tried I'm sure it didn't look normal. LOL. Thursday was the first day i could walk without pain! Then of course there was class again this morning. Started out by jogging from the Rec Center up to the LDS church & back...about 1.6 miles! I jogged most of it, but walked some. I'm pretty proud of myself. But we'll see if i can move tomorrow. LOL.

** 12:15pm - just informed that our run may have been closer to 2-2.5 miles. i think I'll go clock it out tonight and see for sure. :D

Thank you

I feel like i am saying THANK YOU alot lately. And i am. But it's because i have the greatest Family & Friends. I have such a HUGE support system and it's awesome!! I just wanted to let you know how much i appreciate you all. I am doing pretty good. I think i was more prepared for this miscarriage then the first one, 5 years ago. It's still hard don't get me wrong, but i was a complete & udder wreck the first time. Friday was horrible. But the days are getting better.

Right now i am truly going to concentrate on myself. Get myself in the best possible shape that i can by next Spring when we try again. I know i keep hearing that my weight isn't the only issue with PCOS, but i know it's a factor. A factor that i should have control on...and apparently i don't. So that is my new goal. Get Control. :)

So tomorrow morning at 615am i will be at the Jerome Rec Center attending my first boot-camp class in MONTHS. I am going to die, but it will be awesome. Thanks Sarah B. for joining in the "fun" with me in the morning. :) I will also start attending my spinning classes again. The joy in the agony of getting in shape. I love it!

p.s. this is my 500th post. Crazy!!

Not Our Time

Went for the follow up ultrasound this morning. No heartbeat. The baby stopped growing at 6weeks. So now we try again another time.

THANK YOU for all your prayers on our behalf.

first vegg

Behold the glorious (first) bounty from our garden!
They were yummmy!

Sunset

I went to close the front window blinds last night and saw the most beautiful Sunset! I yelled to Kevin to get me the camera. The picture doesn't do it justice. But it's still pretty.

turning 300,000

So my mom bought a new Honda Accord back in 1986-87. I loved that car. We drove it to SOOO many volleyball practices and tournaments. It's seen it's fair share of the outside of a gym. When i got my drivers license i had the opportunity to drive her car to school on occasion while the other days driving my sisters car (mom & Nat would carpool to work) for 2 yrs. Then when i started going to San Bernardino Valley College, Natalie & I would car pool (she would drive) since we were both going to play volleyball there. Well Natalie ended up needing to drop out because of her knees. Well...i then needed a car. So we bought me a Red Toyota tercel. Named him Speedy...which is ironic because of his lack of speed. He was a good car, so i thought. He only lasted about 2-2.5 yrs. He died and was too expensive to fix. So then my mom came to me and said, "I have been wanting a new car how would you like to have the Honda?" I'm not sure my exact response but i'm sure it was something like, "Heck ya!!" So i have had it ever since 1999-ish. Kevin and I got married and were living in LA and i would drive it to Burbank everyday for work. We prayed that it would just last "one more year". THANKFULLY we were friends with a great "mechanic" (Chris Maz) that would work with Kevin on our car. thank you thank you!

Well here we are almost 9yrs into marriage and the 87' Honda-- which was named "Quarter Mil" since that's how many miles were on it when we decided to give it a name - is still plugging away.

Here are the latest pics of it turning over to 300,000 miles!!

TA-DA!!!!
We love you Qtr Mil. Please keep plugging away.

thank you

Thank you so much everyone for you thoughts, prayers and for the fast. That means so much to me!! I have been an emotional wreck. Tho i have to have hope that all will be well next Friday. We are currently at my in-laws, Kevin is helping take off the shingles on the roof so they can put a new set on. Last night my MIL and i ran over to the Rupert Hospital and did an HCG test (cause she works in the lab and they did it for free). My numbers are still increasing greatly. The tech that was working last night read in a book that they are right where they are supposed to be for how far along i am. But then he gave a "warning", he said "it just means your body is building something i can't say that it is geneticaly correct". Since he is no Dr, he didn't want to get my hopes up that everything will be OK. But to see the numbers so increased gave me some Hope. So that was nice. Thanks Linda!

ok news...

Well, we went to our appointment this morning in Boise. I was very anxious this morning. Tho very hopefully. We got called back pretty quick after arriving. The tech started the ultrasound and there in the WAY FAR UPPER right corner there is the sac. Just one. It was hard to get a good view of it with the "internal" u/s view...so we tried on top of the belly. Got a little better view. Still not great. I got even more anxious (& teary) and she was having a very hard time finding everything. She was concerned so she got the Doctor to come in and do a little viewing herself. So in comes Dr. Slater and she started taking a look. Sure enough the sac looks great, there's a yolk sac...but no heartbeat. It's measuring small tho...only 6wks 3days...when i should be 7 wks even. So the Doc said "it could be a late bloomer." So we have to go back next Friday morning and there should definitely be a heartbeat and it will be bigger so hopefully easier to see things. At this point the doctors says it's a 50/50 shot of being a viable pregnancy. If there is no heartbeat i will be devistated.

So here's to hoping we checked too early.

Front Planter

Well, we've debated on what to do with the front yard since moving into the house. We did some work on it yesterday. Not extravagant or anything. But we think it looks nice. We'll probably put some flowers in there too. Enjoy the pics. The little bugs on a stick my sis-in-law Barbara gave me for my bday this year. They are so cute!

temptation....

Oh how i'd love to have one of these!! I haven't had one in almost two weeks (2 weeks tomorrow-since we found out). I usually can keep the idea of having one away...but already today I'm thinking i need one.

But i wont! I'll refrain and drink my MILLIONTH bottle of water. I have honestly never drank SO MUCH Water in my life till these last two weeks.

*I took another test this morning cause I'm feeling too good...and it was still Positive. So i should stop worrying about feeling too good and enjoy it while it lasts.

my b-day present...still waiting on...

So I've been waiting on my b-day present for about 4 weeks now. My blue Oakley's i bought in like 2001-2002 broke last summer. So i decided to send them in and get a replacement pair (with a discount-when i returned the broken ones to them). Well I've called seriously like 5 times since i mailed the box to them with my broken ones in it. Every time time i called they said they still hadn't received my box. Stupid me didn't get a tracking # thru USPS. Well...on my fifth call today i got the great news they they FINALLY got my box "registered" just two days ago! I sent it to them Priority on 4/16/09!!!

I am SO relieved that they have it and are processes my order. Lovely Vanessa today was super nice and helpful. I was ready to be mean. LOL. Especially since i was on hold for 12 mins! I am supposed to get an email with a tracking # when it gets shipped. Probably the beginning of next week!! YAY!!!

Here is a look at my soon to be NEW glasses...

Monday, May 11, 2009

increased beautifully

So i got the call today right around noon. We went from 49 on Thursday to a 290 today! YAY!!! So that is totally good news. So we have an U/S scheduled for May 29th in Boise. They want to take one last look to make sure everything looks good before i "graduate" (their term not mine) to see an OB/Gyn in Twin.

January 15, 2010
(it's nice knowing exactly with you conceived. LOL.)
Can't come soon enough!

I know we aren't out of the woods.
We've got A LONG ways to go.
But we're excited.
And THANK YOU for being so excited for us!

ear infection

So i had a cold and it finally went away a week from last Friday. Well this Friday it decided to come back...with an ear infection! I've had 2 ear infections in the past year! I haven't had one in AGES previous to that. So i was concerned not really "knowing" if i am truly PREGNANT or not. So i decided to take the only "pee test" i still hadn't used.

here are the results....

YAY!! YAY!! YAY!! YAY!! YAY!! YAY!! YAY!! YAY!! YAY!! YAY!! YAY!! YAY!!

So we go to the Physician's Immediate Care cause my ear was KILLING ME and yup sure enough its a middle ear infection. Joy! So he said even in early pregnancy it's OK to take amoxicillan. He also gave me ear drops to help with the pain. Which we filled both immediately. I don't think i would have made it thru the night last night if we didn't go see the Doc. So I've only taken one pill so far, I'll take on again here in a minute (after i eat something) but i am SO CONCERNED about taking amoxicillian. I've read on-line that it's OK, but still i don't want it to cause a miscarriage.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT TAKING IT???

Thursday, May 07, 2009

preliminary test results are in....

We have a (small) POSITIVE pregnancy test!!!!!

The numbers are low, but it's still SO EARLY.
(i won't be due till January 2010)

So i need to go in again on Monday to have another blood test to check to make sure that the numbers are increasing. If they are not then we worry about an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy.

WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!!!

(seems so unreal)

CONTINUED PRAYERS ARE APPRECIATED. :)

another year older...

I can't believe i'm 31!!! That just sounds too old. LOL. I guess you are only as old as you feel, right? So some days i feel 18 and other days 60. So i guess it balances out. :)

Last night i was told by Kevin to just "relax" and rest so i can get feeling better from this stupid cold. Well i was talking to my sister Carolyn on the phone and the front blinds were cracked open. I could tell a car just pulled up in my driveway. Who could it be? I wasn't expecting anyone. Well i open the door and there are Emily, Jen & Lauren. They kidnapped me! They were nice enough to let me change out of my pink Mickey Mouse pjs pants (my sis-in-law made me) and Kevin's old white church shirt. LOL. They took me to the movies where Jenn & Cat joined us too. We went and saw 17 Again. Cute movie. We were the ONLY 6 people in the theater. It was pretty cool. :) So if we didn't show up they wouldn't have had to play the movie. LOL. Gotta love small town Idaho. Then after the movie we went to Dairy Queen and had some ice cream, chatted & laughed. We weren't paying attention to the time and i guess they wanted to close so they turned the lights out on us! I couldn't believe it. They didn't come up to us and say..."we are closing in 5 mins" or something like that. *kevin was in on the kidnapping-sneaky sneaky!*

THANK YOU GIRLS FOR A FUN NIGHT!!!!!

Here's to hoping my 31st year will be a good one!

status update

So i guess i should update since it's been over a week. Sunday we went to Boise had an u/s. My one really good one was at a 15.5, which is just shy of what they want...18. So they said not to do any more meds and we'll check in another u/s on Tuesday. Well i had one move vial of medicine...so i did one last shot to give it that extra push it needed. So Tuesday go in for another u/s and HOT DANG it was ready! So we scheduled an IUI for Thursday. So we went to boise yesterday and did the IUI. So now we wait and see. One of the u/s techs on tuesday was one of the first ones that saw me back in January when we started this whole process. She was SO IMPRESSED with how "beautiful" my lining was. She said, "i probably shouldn't say this, but when you first started (back in January) i was a little worried it wasn't going to work for you (ever) because your lining wasn't so great, but now look at it!" So i guess i'll take the compliment.

So...it only takes one...so lets hope this one is it!

Thursday, April 16, 2009

thursday u/s

So I went for another u/s today. I was excited to see that there was some good growth. I've got 4 follicles. They range from 13-8...we need one (or more) to be an 18. So...that obviously means more meds. So, I'll do more meds this week/end and we will head to Boise on Sunday to do an u/s, since they don't do them here in Twin on the weekends. I am checking ovulation tests, just incase, tho i doubt i would ovulate on my own. If I have a postive ovulation test on Saturday then we will turn Sunday's appt into an IUI appt instead of just an u/s.

Funny side note: As i was racing back to the office after my appt this morning (which took longer then expected) I was pulled over for speeding. The first time in 9yrs that i've been pulled over. I was happy to have only received a warning. Yay!!! Only the 2nd time being pulled over ever. And i like to speed!

Monday, April 13, 2009

Monday u/s

A disappointing appointment today. There was hardly any growth at all. They are REALLY pumping the meds these next three days and then I'll have another u/s on Thursday. I am SO ready to have this done and over with. I am SO emotionally drained it's not even funny! I just want it to end either way. Pregnant or not. I've been having an impression that we need to get our adoption paperwork together. I felt that way after round two...and i'm feeling it again. I don't know if it's my way of giving up on this stupid process or if it's inspriation. Either way, i think we need to do it. What's a $1000 for the paperwork to be processed compared to the thousands we've spent over these last 3-4 months with fruitless results.

Sorry i'm such a downer lately.

Appointment Update

So Friday we left for my appt. and I was quite nervous and setting myself up for the bad news. So when the doctor comes in she said "we'll do that follicle count first and then we will do the water ultrasound." I said "OK, sounds good." Well when she started the u/s to do the follicle count to see how my eggs were doing she noticed my lining is just fine and where it should be! WOO! HOOO!!!! There was no need to do the water u/s. She just thinks that i hadn't had the heavist part of my cycle yet by the time we did the inital u/s so...ALL IS WELL!!!! My eggs are doing good. Still small. But my left side has finally decided to participate in the growing of follicles. I had about 5-6 follicles that were measuring about 7-8, usually i have like 1-2 maybe. We need to get them up to around 18.

SO...i've been doing more meds and then i have an u/s Monday in Twin to see how we are doing and if i need more meds. I'm thinking...Yes i'll need more. Just cause my body is so stubborn. So the appt was much shorter (& cheaper) then we thought it was going to be. YAY!!!!

I am so grateful for you all and for all the prayers you have said on our behalf.
THANK YOU!!

*more to come later about our stay in Boise and ALL the fun we had!*

3 weeks of being lazy

So i haven't worked out in 3 weeks...till yesterday. It (spinning) kicked my butt!! I am glad to get back to working out. I gained 5-7 lbs back in those three weeks! I'm blaming part of it on the medicine and being bloated. LOL. Plus i ate WAY too much Easter candy. I just LOVE Cadbury Creme eggs & the Reese's peanut butter eggs. YUMMMMM. I have one of each of those at my desk right now! I can't leave Walmart without buying them.

So i think we are going to make it a "weekend" trip to Boise. We are thinking of staying the night at a friends house and then checking out a museum or zoo or something in Boise. Since we haven't done anything like that in forever. We'll come home on Saturday and then Sunday head to Kevin's parents for Easter.

I guess i better ask our friends if we could stay the night at their place. LOL.

stupid body of mine

So, we have decided to do one last round before needing to take a (financial) break. Well this morning i went in for a baseline u/s to just check out how things look. They do these u/s on day 2 or 3 of your cycle. Well apparently my lining is TWICE as thick as it should be. So now there is worry that there might be a polyp(s) in my uterus not allowing the lining to thin correctly. So now we are going to Boise on Friday (4/10) to have a water u/s done by Dr. Slater to see how things look and hopefully rule out what might be the cause. If there is a polyp and we don't get pregnant this round the doctor would recommend having it (them) removed. So...now we wait till next Friday to see how things look in there. But i continue on with the meds as normal.

UGH!!!! WHY!?!? Why does it have to be so hard!?!

* now up to 25 friends pregnant or have given birth this year.*
